Somewhere along the line I've seen references to forward pistol grips on a pistol being illegal?

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Thank you in advance.

The pistol pictured seems to be set up as some form of “race gun”, but for a holster-sized handgun it does seem silly.

However, AR and other similar pistols can have an angled foregrip, often helpful as a stop to keep your hand away from the muzzle.

I’ll play Devil’s Advocate.

What about a bipod on a handgun? I actually saw one on a big ol X frame Smith.

I think a foreword grip on a pistol should be illegal simply because it looks dumb. lol But honestly, who really cares? Why does the government always have to stick their nose into e erything?

The devil is in the details. I have this ridiculous thing which turns a Glock into a shoulder braced pistol. These are legal and mass marketed. There is a non vertical front handhold. I have never fired it but it seems that with high capacity mags it would be viable. There are YouTube reviews on them.

With that forward grip mounted on the rail, you don't have room for the flashlight, laser, bipod, bayonet, and grenade launcher. You ain't cool if you ain't tacticool and you ain't tacticool unless you have all of those items mounted on your pistol. :D

call me old school, a pistol should fit and be carried in a holster, if you want a pistol buy a pistol if you want a rifle buy a rifle.
with the longer rail on a rifle one can add a laser, flashlight. bayonet ect. and be tacticool.
