Default Ojito Wilderness NM BLM land for shooting

What a pleasure it was yesterday. About 1hr NW of Albuquerque.
Target shooting my pre 18, 25-2 and 629 ND.
Beautiful surroundings.
Highly recommended if you’re in NM or passing through.

Here is the spot..

Hush!

Don't shoot the stray dogs . . .

Naw, I go there often. (And I'm not going to tell you about my nicer spot for shooting. )

I'd encourage anyone visiting the Ojito to be exceedingly careful not to inadvertantly start shooting on Zia Pueblo land - I've never done it, but I have some interesting stories. I'd also strongly encourage that everyone visit with at least one buddy - after a career doing criminal law work in NM, I have some other interesting stories.

I called the BLM office because I didn’t want to take any chances.
I asked the guy on the end of the phone and he was nice enough to Text me the exact shooting location pin using Apple Maps.

It was an absolute pleasure. To be out there in nature, shooting at targets in such a beautiful spot.
