I found this 3" barrel Taurus 65 chambered in .357 at a local pawn shop, priced under $300.00, so I had to take it home. I have owned and sold several Smith 65's, but the price and condition of this Taurus was too good to leave for someone else. According to Taurususa.com. it was made in 1992. As best I can tell, Taurus no longer offers the model 65, and only offers 3-inch barrels on their 5-shot models.

I believe the older Taurus models to be of much better quality than some of the new ones, and hope to have this one for a long time to come.

I am looking for this exact gun to match my 431.44 special.

The quality compares well to a Smith, which surprised me.

I think they got it right ;)

I had one in blue back a few years ago. I didn't keep it long, traded it off for something else, but I couldn't find a thing to not like about that gun. It looked like "serious business" to me. The couple of times I shot it, it shot fine.

That's been my experience with Taurus revolvers in general. I've never had one I didn't like. The ones from the late 70's to I guess the mid 80's or so weren't as nicely finished but worked just fine. Look for wooden grips. If the Taurus has them, it's worth a second look.
