Default explain the abbreviations

I am a new member and I have been reading a lot of the posts and the information contained within is simply awesome. However a lot of the posts also contain abbreviations or terms that are not recognized by this individual. Is there a forum or posting that could explain what typical abbreviations used in this forum mean.
Thanks

Casey

Default Thanks for the reply

Good Advice. Reminds me of my early days aboard tin cans with all the unusual and sometimes ridiculous terms that were floated about. I quickly learned not to go after a bucket of steam.
thanks,
Casey

Post the abbreviations that are unknown, and someone will help. Just FYI, I've been shooting and collecting firearms for 65 years and am still confused by some of the acronyms used on the internet.

Here's a couple that I do know.

P&R: Pinned (barrel to frame) and recessed (cylinder charge holes)
IL: Internal lock found on recent S&W revolvers or other makes/models

MIM = metal injection molding
An alternative to casting or forging steel parts. It is a parts manufacturing process kinda similar to sintering bronze.
