I don't see why you have to put yourself in Time Out. It's not you, it's the specific behavior and you realize what your doing. That's 90% of the battle. What the Man say? "Go and sin no more." I'm not about tossing rocks, there's too much crystalline silica in the walls of my dwelling.
IMO, fuggedabout the Self Time Out. All you have to do before posting is ask yourself "Is it relevant and on topic?"
It's a fine and blurry line sometimes between 2A and politics because so much of the 2A debate is politicized. Some members may look at a given thread and ask "What's going on? I thought politics was off-limits in 2A?" For a thread about the President's pitch at the All-Star Game, they'd be correct. OTOH, for the media circus covering the monumental waste of time and resources in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on the SCOTUS nominee, it's a tough call. Judge Sotamayor's testimony in re: her opinion on 2A is relevant and on topic for the 2A forum, IMO and that of the other mods and The Boss. That's why these Sotamayor threads are running.
Back on point: All any member should do is ask themselves before making ANY post in ANY forum: "Is this on topic and relevant?" Mods would not have to move as many posts from "Guns for Sale" to "Accessories for Sale" if members selling grips, barrels, lockwork parts, holsters, etc., did so.
