I have 2000 office that has outlook, bought newer version to no avail. I cannot use the calender section to book events. Microsoft online help was no help at all.
this is the message I keep getting.
an error occurred while attempting to open the Windows Address Book, unable to find the WAB DLL.

any ideas?

It seems that, for whatever reason, that file is missing. If you Google that file name, you probably can find a site where you can download the file free and install it on your hard drive.

Try this:
Go to

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office

Find the OUTLOOK application, (outlook.exe)

Right click and go to properties, then compatibility, then under compatibility mode check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose Windows XP SP2 in the drop down.

or this:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office

Then right click on it and select "Run as Administrator"

I must be totally computer illiterate. Is this how-to explanation in English? My comprehension is such, that it didn't even permeate to any level of understanding in my brain. We only had slide-rules when I was at university, and you had to be very smart to even use one of those. Now, if I can just figure out this VCR!

My VCR had been blinking at 12:00 for over 10 years - Couple of months ago some one here told me how to fix it, put a piece of electrical tape over the blinking window, it worked! - Thanks fellers.

Hunt 200, thank you so much.
I can finally use the calander on my laptop.
I am now having trouble however when I try to copy or send my 2009 outlook calander from the desktop to the laptop. I have tried everything. Is it even posible? As much time as I have spent trying I could have entered it in manually!
Thanks again!

Off the top of my head I would suggest you export the calender and then import it to the laptop. Go under file and use the import\export feature.
