The 908 (blued) and 908S (stainless) are the "budget" versions of the venerable 3914 (blued) and 3913 (stainless). Many people, myself included, believe the 39XX family to be the epitomy of the perfect single stack 9mm carry weapon.

The 908 is mostly identical to the 3914, with some rougher finishing on the slide, a lack of checkering on the frontstrap of the grip, and some cost-saving plastic parts (such as the magazine release and guide rod). The plastic guide rod can be swapped out for metal 3913/3914 part to increase durability.

Thanks for the welcome, Years ago I had a model 39 and just believe in s&w dependability and quality. I'm sure once I get it I will be looking for iwb holster ,hogue grips and other goodies!: Any more pics of this model y'all might have would be cool.

Welcome to the forum,
As stated it is almost identical to the 3913/3914. If you are going to cc the 908 you will find that single stack is awsome to carry all day I have a 3914 and find I am carrying that more and more I have 350+ rounds through my 3914 and it has been flawless. It is slowly replacing my 640
centenial as a regular carry sidearm.

Thanks for reply, I'll be carrying quite a bit,looking at andrewsleather for iwb holster, met him a florida gun show today.I chose to move up to 9mm from .380 bersa I sold today.I feel better about that.

You will find carrying that 908 a pleasure. Currently I am using an older uncle mikes (#5?)that was given to me this is till I find some nice leather for it, I may contact Lobo leather for a nice pancake. These S&W single stack 9s are accurate and reliable. Pleanty of info on this forum on them.

For IWB carry of my 3913, I initially used an old Safariland clone of the classic "Summer Special" holster. But for the past year or two, I've used a Crossbreed Supertuck, especially during the summer. Extremely comfortable, and easy to conceal under just a t-shirt. Crossbreed Holsters > Home

For OWB, I've used a variety of holsters, from a Galco FLETCH to an old Ted Blocker B5 belt slide. I recently ordered a Model 1-SL from Lobo Gun Leather that should be delivered Monday. Lobo Gun Leather - Home

I can also pocket carry the 3913 in a DeSantis Nemesis in the front pocket of a pair of loose Woolrich or 5.11 Tactical pants.

Welcome to the forum. You'll love that gun. I've developed quite a liking for the single-stack 9's myself. I got a pair of 3953's a while ago but haven't posted pics yet. (They're a DAO version of the 3913/908.) Great carry guns and lots of fun to shoot. Good luck with yours!
