In answer to your question about grips on a 12-4, the one I posted earlier in this thread is a 12-4 and has standard K frame grips that came off a 10-5 on it. Not a perfect fit but no gaps.

I've fitted mod 10 grips to 12 pre dash 4's. I never ran across a 12-4 in the flesh.

I have a M12 flat latch that dates to early 1962 with a square butt with diamond grips that feel like a velvet glove to me. It's worn just enough to give it character. I bought it at a show about 10 years ago for a really good price. Great carry piece. I really like the square butt.

Mr. COYOTE: That is an outstanding looking mod 12. I had a twelve SB years ago. It came with standard K frame magna non diamond grips. I took the grips and fitted them to the gun. I later sold the gun and now wish I now had the thing after seeing yours with service grips. If the grips are original, they must be pretty rare. I'm in the market for one to carry.

When I bought this S&W model 12 from a Police Supply Warehouse, it had "N" frame target grips on it! I'd hate to see the size of that Cops hands!

I have recently purchased a Model 12-2 SB. I am wondering about the DOB of the gun and looking for a good concealed carry holster for a big'um, LOL. Serial Number is d766xxx, just looking a for a round about age on it.
