I use it in biscuits and dipping chicken in before flouring it and frying it, the wife drinks it, but thats about it, the kids won't touch it.

But... you need a middle ground in that poll!

It's like drinking sour cream. I'll bake with it but why would anyone want to drink it?

Fresh churned ice cold Buttermilk is Grand...Cornbread, pinto beans with a hamhock cook with it
and green onions, cause your taste buds beat your brains out.

When I was a kid we had it with cornbread mashed up in it and thought is was great, not so much now days.My wife uses 1/2 a pint in a cake recipe and the other 1/2 is still in the fridge and needs to be tossed. My Dad used to finish them off for us but he passed away,so it is kind of a memorial buttermilk tossing.

Sorry-forgot to vote! I'm like Writerinmo, need another option-don't drink it anymore but use it in cooking.

Wonderful stuff for cornbread, biscuts and salad dressing. Drink it? Tried it once...YUK!

The colder the better and you need to put a little salt and pepper in it.Learned that from my Dad and still like it that way.

BINGO!.....my thoughts exactly! I drink some every day. Fortunately my favorite is our local store's brand and it's 1%. I've tried every brand available around here and this one's the best tasting. I've had some that were so thick it was like drinking cottage cheese...and they didn't taste as good.

"Why DO they put an expiration date on buttermilk, anyway???"

I voted love it,Pancakes, biscuts and other things.I don't drink it straight, but I love bacon grease and don't drink it straight either.

Never drink it, but it took me 50+ years to appreciate buttermilk in cooking (chicken, pork etc.)

Love liver & onions too.

I drink buttermilk and I love liver, fried with onions and bacon.

But then, I have refined tastes and it's obvious most of you don't.

It's tolerable to drink straight but I love it with a hunk of cornbread crumbled up in it. Eat it outta the glass with a spoon.
