Best Rifle Case???

Jackpot! Take it and run

also fyi, pelican charges upwards of $50 for replacement foam, so if you plan to cut it make sure to measure three times, cut once!

Well I plan to just grab regular foam from the online supplier I found if I screw it up. Gonna spend a lot of time planning and cutting.

I use a Bulldog case for my 15-22 I got from my local gun shop for around $40. It works great and I tend to agree with Phil that I buy something appropriate to the gun.

I have two Pelican cases that I use for transporting and storing my AR-15 and MSAR Bullpup. The cost of those guns and the real accessories on them make it much easier to spend $200 on a case, especially when they are getting knocked around heading to competitions and the range.

turns out the plano 1404 is one of the best deals out there, Walmart for only $10!! It has three layers of foam, one layer with the pick-and-pluck and the other two are eggshell style. Also lockable. I bought it as temporary storage until I can get my foam cut in the 3i case, but now I think i'm just gonna carry both cases to the range and keep the accessories in the plano.

^The latches can be replaced with TSA locks, which I need to buy seperate. Wish i would of known that in advance, otherwise I'm extremely pleased with it.

I've got the same plano case that I use for taking pistols to the range (holds 8 with creative packing methods). Anyone have experience with the all weather series. Looks like a nice case for around a c-note.

James.

Got time to cut my foam last night. I'm happy with it. I'm liking the Pelican case.

Box of .22 fun. I like it. Those GSG 1911 .22's have been getting good reviews too.

Here is what I use. I don't like for people to know what I'm carrying. I found this in a pawn shop for 10.00. Soft, padding, and has shoulder straps. Fits perfectly.

I definitely like the idea, but I only use my cases for to and from the range so everyone already knows what I'm carrying. Gachrid, I like the setup and may have to copy your ideas there as I have a gsg as well to house. Question though, where'd you get your mags for it? My LGS can't seem to locate any for me and 10 at a time is just too slow (and no mag change, panic drill, etc. practice).

James.

I love the Pelican cases. You can really organize it like you want it.

I just don't have the funds for such right now.

I did make a recent Midway order. Picked up some cool goods for my 11yr olds Christmas list...he's getting a 15-22 this year. Oh yeah....his old man is getting one, too. :)

Anyway my first Miday large range bag for pistols has served me very, very well over the years. They have them on sale for $39.00 right now in both black and olive drab. I went ahead and added one of these. It' will help hold more pistols, ammo, hearing protection, etc.

I also picked up a couple of these rifle bags which are also on sale. Numerous pockets for magazines and other. He's gonna go nuts.

Now...gotta keep stocking up on ammo.

Want to copy my ideas huh Wolfe? Haha. Aimsurplus is where I picked up my mags for my GSG. Cheapest price as long as they have them in stock. They go quick there because they are about $10 cheaper then anywhere else. Here's the link: GSG .22lr 1911 10rd magazine. But as I just looked they are sold out. I would keep an eye there because they usually are back in stock in a week or so.

I appreciate the link. I had seen AIM had them but was sold out. As for copying your ideas, I am still unsure. Today I saw a case set up for dual ar's and dual M9's (would change to dual 1911s). Figured I could have my practice weapons and my centerfires in the same case (when money permits me to buy the case and a "real" ar). In the meantime, I'm thinking I'll order the midway professional soft case with my next order.

Haha I was just joking around. My rimfires are my "all the time" guns. I'm just a plinker so I don't have anything else. That dual case sounds pretty nice tho. If you plan on wanting to carry everything in one case later I'd go for that too.

WOW, That is one sweet setup. One case for lots of fun. I suppose you have another bag for ammo.
I think I'm going to copy you too.

Thanks. I do have a seperate range bag that has all my ammo, tools, safety stuff, and cleaning stuff.

What shroud is that?
What grip?
Is the orange follower blocked to 10 like the blue one?
It looks like you might be able to fit 2 more 15-22 mags if you're creative. Or a bunch of the short 10 rounders on end.
