I heard that the artic ice cap is melting and polar bears are drowning because the lower 48 have stolen all the cold air from the artic and traded their global warming for the artic cold. Is this true? I would be willing to send all this sub-freezing weather and ice that has desended on So. Texas back to Alaska, or Canada, or the artic.

Tell you what: the polar bears in the Albuquerque zoo are plenty happy! :D NM had the nation's low yesterday, BTW: -36°F in Angel Fire and Red River.

Polar Bears and simply doing the job that American bears won't do. Lounge around in the cold and eat cute seals.

Help me understand this Global Warming (Oh, excuse me, Al, Climate Change) thing:
It's causing massive melting in these areas and is killing the polar bears, right? So, it's what, -60 degrees there? My driving my SUV has caused this catastrophe, which Algore says has resulted in a temperature rise of something like 1.3 degrees over the last 10 years or so. Well, sure, I get it now, it's now -58.7 degrees in the Arctic. That explains it, I can see now why this tropical climate will soon melt everything.
The scary thing is people actually believe this stuff.....And they're terrified.

Worse yet, they're breeding.

The really scary thing is that people choose to believe or disbelieve based on politics--not facts.

The polar ice *is* melting. Pictures don't lie. The only question is whether man or nature is causing this. Despite what either side claims, the truth is nobody knows. Based on long-term studies on evaporation rates it seems less solar energy is reaching the earth's surface due to particulate matter in the atmosphere. So the so-called "greenhouse gases" your SUV is spewing may actually be doing more good than harm. Or not.

Bottom line: this is a topic worthy of serious study. Unfortunately we can't be serious about it, as we only hear about it from smarmy politicians and pundits with agendas.

I'm not terrified, however. I never thought I was going to live forever, and for the moment my morning commute is a much bigger hazard than climate change.

The bear wouldn't know the difference between a seal and a Chicago politician....both are slippery and flip flop about constantly...

lol, sums up about 99% of all politicians ;)

"VANITY"

how in the world can a human being become so VAIN as to think that he could destroy something that was created by god is beyond all reason...

The question I want to ask one of the "true believers" in global warming is this: Suppose the internal combustion engine had never been created, and we never had a coal fired power plant. What would the climate be like? Would it just always be a pleasant, stable temperature, with no fluctuations? Seems history would answer that question, but I'd like to hear a response from one of these people.
I'm a member of my local Rotary club. Hopefully one of them will be a speaker soon and I'll get my opportunity.
With my luck, the meeting will be canceled due to heavy snow and dangerously low temperatures.

+1 It will end when God says so, not a minute before. The wisdom of man is foolishness in the eyes of the Lord.

There is no doubt that man already has the power to make this planet uninhabitable. Ever hear of global thermonuclear war?

The vanity isn't thinking that we have the power to destroy the planet; the vanity is thinking we can do whatever we like without suffering consequences.

I don't know whether the fearmongers are right or not. I just know emotional pseudo-logic won't give us the answers.
