Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Here's our first. We had the honor of having her since 1991. She passed from our lives in 2003 from pancreatic cancer. She is always on our minds and in our hearts, this goes for anyone who came to know Stormy.

Two months ago we went to our local shelter to look for another cat, we already have three, but our oldest is already 17yrs old, even though she's in good health she doesn't have to many years. First we figured we would take a look at the dog's they had, and sitting there was a roughly year old Border Collie. All reports on her was that she wasturned into the shelter due to family leaving the state, she didn't seem abused in any manner. After a half hour in the meet&greet room I was smitten with her. Though not as smart as Stormy, at least not yet, she's very smart and learns quickly. Still doing the kennel training, we havent had an accident in over a month, and our three cats have cured her of wanting to heard them. Here's Gretchen!

BRAVO! Gretchen was lonely and you've given her a real life that will be full of love. In return, she'll give you even more!

God created dogs for humans . . . or maybe the other way around! LOL She's going to be a blessing, though she'll never replace your last dog . . . nor will he replace her in your heart one day.

Congratulations, BCs are a great breed!

our new girl

Stella, the wonder dog! Rescued her from the shelter 2 months ago, now we can't imagine being without her

I can't do photos, but had to comment. I swore I would never have another dog, after the one I had as a child, from six years old until I was 19. He died while I was in the Army. They find a place in your heart and when they are gone, it leaves a big hole there, at least it did with me. And here I am, 70 years old, and somehow I saddled myself with 3 rescued dogs and 2 rescued cats. I must be real stupid or something. Now, I'm obligated to stick around and see after them until it's time to bury them all. I guess that will kill me, if nothing else does.

Here's my 11 week old Dogo Argentino 'Maleva de la Cocha' .... these dogs were breed for hunting wild boar and are pretty impressive should you google or youtube some videos.

This little girl, although going through basic then offensive training, is raised mainly on belly rubs and kisses.

Mom was 120lb, dad was 130lb so she's gonna grow to be a pretty big pup .. I love my Dogo ...

Our last dog was stolen. No, not stolen from us, we stole it from her original owners.

Feb./March 2009, north Alabama area. Cold (20's-30's during the night) wet, rainy with some snow. The house next door to my daughter's ex-boyfriend's grandfather. The house was empty but not abandoned. The owners used it to train fighting dogs.

Molly was left outside in the back yard with no food, water or shelter. The ex-boyfriend jumped the fence, got Molly, gave her to my daughter, which ended up at my house when she went to college.

Molly turned out to be the most intelligent dog I have ever owned. She also turned out to be a viscous killer dog - see the pics below with one of her first victims for proof of this.

Kudos to your daughter's ex-boyfriend FTG-05 for the daring raid, and to you for rescuing such a sweet girl. That second picture is priceless, and nearly melted my heart!

We are in the process of deciding on our next one as our previous dog (photo posted earlier) was tragically killed September 19, 2009. He was a pound pup, and our next will be a rescue of some sort. I have a hard time understanding how people can abuse dogs.
