Companies need to let engineers design things and lawyers. . .

I can't really finish that sentence.

A couple of weeks ago I asked a newbie question about the internal locks and why almost everybody hates them and the administrator closed and locked (pun intended) that thread... Later, Dave

You have to get approval from the Mods and put on THE LIST before you can start an IL thread. Until then you are only authorized to post in them.
It's all in THE RULES- you DID read them didn't you.............. :D

Actually, Caj, I'm not on any approved list - in fact my wrist has been slapped a number of times for perceived infractions. But let me point out for the benefit of the court that this post is not about the internal lock, damnable device that it is, but about the internal lock key. I rest my case....;)

Customer????

 The Engineer designs what the customer wants. The definition of customer is tricky, corporate or retail. I don't want the lock or need the key, so I'm a customer of old Smith & Wessons :).

I often thought that at least they could have designed it to be the same as the handcuff key I have had on my keyring for 30 years so I didn't have to carry the gun key too "just in case".

I have never had my hand slapped for perceived infractions........I have been spanked a bit for actual infractions :D

If God had intended for us to use such things to clean out our ears, He would not have , in His infinte wisdom, provided for the development of a screwdriver blade on most Swiss Army Knives.

Point taken

I looked on my key ring. Amongst the keys is a S&W hand cuff key and a bottle opener. Pretty indespensible combination if you ask me
