Gentlemen,
Looking to carry my 2 1/2" 19-5 and am interested in a solid, tight, pancake type holster for when I choose to do so. The 1911's I usually carry are all carried in that style of holster so I don't want to deviate from that style. Mitch Rosen is what I usually use, but Kramer also makes a good looking one which also might suit the purpose. I'm interested in your views from you guys who carry the 2 1/2" 19's on a regular basis. I've tried Galco, but found that they weren't fitted tight enough for good retention. A good snug fit is needed without going overboard. Thank you for your time! Jim.

I really like my Kramer, but they take longer than the 6 to 8 weeks they state to produce it in my experience.

My 2.5" 66 rides in a Kramer MSP holster. I find this package comfortable and the revolver is very secure. I liked it so much I bought another for my N Frame 3 inch guns too.

Lobo gun leather will make you one to fit, and it fits well. Look up their website. Ray is aember on the forum and doews great work and quick turn around time for a reasonable price. I have one for my 2 1/2" 19-4, and it carries great. I'm traveling now and don't have those pictures on my laptop, and can't seem tofigure out how to post pictures from photobucket with the laptop. I have no problem from my desktop.

Plus, Ray from Lobo is in CO as it appears you are too. Never hurts to support your neighbor. Just bought my first one from him (for a 3" J frame) and am satisfied.

Davef1,
I checked Kramers site and didn't see the MSP model. Which model does that refer to? I was thinking along the belt scabbard line. Did you get yours in cowhide or horsehide? I have a belt scabbard in horsehide for a SIG 220 and it is very solid to say the least. Thanks for your help!

I also like the Simply Rugged pancakes and have them for my Ruger Alaskan and LCR. I have a Hays Holsters pancake for my 3" SP-101 and it is good looking and works well. Hays shipped it in less than a week.

YES! Best holster for the money! Good guy too!

Look no further than the Lobo Gun Leather Enhanced pancake. They're the most comfortable, concealment holsters I've ever used in 40+ years of concealed carry.

Gets my vote too. Just order another one from Ray

Got to agree with xtrooper. Lobos enhanced pancake is the most comfortable holster I've worn with my m19. It conceals as well as can be done with a k frame revolver and retention is just fine. I doubt you will regret a lobo holster.

Both mine are Horsehide in Black. The wait is a bit long but I really like the workmanship and style of this one.

LOBO made me this fancied up improved pancake model for my 19-5. I carry it quite often and it is top notch! Like others have said he's a great guy to deal with and turn around time is quite short.

Another fan of Lobo.

638 Model 1 Pancake add Detail Boned & Inner Hammer Shield
310 Night Guard Enhanced Pancake Comes Detail Boned add Inner Hammer Shield.
625 3" Model 1 Pancake add Detail Boned & Inner Hammer Shield.
64 HB 4" Enhanced Pancake Comes Detail Boned add Inner Hammer Shield.
610 4" Enhanced Pancake Comes Detail Boned add Inner Hammer Shield.

I still need another Pancake for my 4" 617.

Rays back log is normally 4 or 5 weeks.
I normally e-mail him my requirements (Right Hand, 1.5" Belt, Tan Finish, etc) and the exact description of my gun, to get on the production list, then mail him a check. He does not do plastic.
I have been happy with 5 out of 5 so far, and plan to order more from Lobo.
The price should be around $60 for one as described above. A pretty good bargain for a quality custom leather holster made in the USA.

Note: As seen above Ray has 2 models of pancake holsters. The main difference is the Model 1 has conventional Belt Slots, while the Enhanced has Belt Tunnels. As I have and wear both styles regularly my observation is this. The Enhanced probably looks a little better to most. The Model 1 is handier to get on and off your belt. If you thread your holster on in the morning, and wear it all day the Enhanced is great. If however you might need to take the holster off at some point, and possibly put it back on. The Model 1 would probably be a little handier.

I will probably get my Pancake on order for my 617 shortly. I will probably go with another Model 1.

A note on fit: I have a 4" K Frame holster for my 64 Heavy Barrel. It is a perfect fit. The Full Underlug 617 4" K Frame will not fit in it. Each holster is well fitted to the gun you order it for. This is why it is important to get the information on your gun detailed out for a perfect fit.

Good Luck with your choice.

Bob
