most and least favorite commercials

"Flow can go", I wish the lizard would get stepped on, and the Allstate "mayhem jerk" should get run over. I will never buy insurance from any of the three, because the commercials are just plain stupid. The AARP ones really are bad too. Thank goodness for the mute button on the remote.

Favorite: Wee wee weeeeeh!

Hated: All commercials that sound louder than the show I'm watching and all which air more than three times per month.

Most are least favorites, but the main ones I like are the Bud lite real men of genius/real American heroes. Now those are good, but they are radio.

I enjoy the Geico cavemen. The scrabble game is very funny: caveman spells "cat"! Makes me chuckle just thinking about it.

From a marketing standpoint, the Allstate mayhem commercials are great. Finally an insurance company asking people to think about what cheap insurance actually means. Shaky Shaky!

I HATE!! EVERY SINGLE GIECO COMMERCIAL ESPECIALLY THE CAVEMEN! Flo from Progressive is second and the General to save some time is a close third.

Once again, I guess, I'm in the minority, along with Deadaye and at least one other poster. :o

I don't watch any of them. I either mute the sound and take a break in the bathroom, or something like get a snack/drink, if I am watching a show that has commercials. And, I rarely watch those shows.

But, most of the time I use what God intended to protect us from such things, the DVR. Just set it, forget it, then watch when I have nothing better to do.

I don't think I watch more that three or four hours of TV a week. We have a cable system with bazillions of channels, but, as they say, nothing worth watching on any of them.

The J.G. Wentworth gag was funny once or twice, but wore out its welcome. This kind of thing will give Gilbert & Sullivan a bad rep. At least no one else is copying the approach.

Some of the Kayak ads are entertainingly deranged: "Because I'm a moron. That's how you get to the top."

The Progressive ads are pretty hard to take in any flavor. Maybe Flo and the humorless but generous 20-something guy with the 1970s hair in the alternative ads will meet, marry and have some annoying progressive kids.

I like any ad with a $50,000 car going sideways in the dust or rain. That's most of them, I think.

I like the Alka Seltzer "spicy meatball" commercial, but I haven't seen that one for a while.

Why do so many commercials and Infomercials have sales guys with an Australian or British accent? are they supposedly more credible than US actors??
Steve W.

They're taking jobs that Americans don't want...

Guys, (and Ladies), I live in Iowa. For the past few months the ONLY commercials that have been on are for political candidates. In each spot set there would be 3 or 4 of them, sometimes negative ones back to back of candidate A opposing candidate B. Then B opposing A next. It got really tiring. I use mute quite a bit.
New Hampshire is experiencing that now, and I'm sure they are enjoying it every bit as much as we Iowans did.

Now back to our regulary scheduled programming........of nothing but ads for drugs of some kind.

The free credit report commercials are on my worst list. The first couple were kind of funny, the first time I saw them. Now, though, they've been done to death. Flo is annoying, as is the duck that sounds like Gilbert Gottfried.

I'm pretty sure I don't have any favorite commercials. I love my DVR. ;)

Favorite commercial: Hamsterdam Ave. I've watched it on YouTube and I'm amazed by the background details. (KIA Soul, if you don't recognize it)

Most hated: JG Wentworth, Blue Tax, anything that helps people dodge their obligations. Wife hates all AARP for making Seniors look like bums. I hate all AARP commercials because they are hypocritical b.......
Actually, the list goes on and on.

I almost forgot: Heineken. WeightWatchers with two shreiking "divas". Come to think about it, I could spend most of the evening listing them all.

The worst of the worst: the three GEICO MORONS with smart phones. Makes me look forward to the apocolypse.

Search for "best Ford commercial." You are looking for the one with the serviceman returning home, greeted by mom and brother at airport. It is long, but worth it.

The last commercials that didn't annoy me were the ones for Bartels and James wine coolers.
