Loved that show. Reed and Malloy were true gentleman in blue. Looking at those pictures of the show, and of the fellow forum members guns and it is amazing how far police guns have come. No officer in his right mind would venture out with a wheelgun in today's world.
I talked with retired state trooper recently, and as we were discussing the handguns he has carried he mentioned that in the early 60's he was patrolling the upper northern reaches of the state turnpike, alone, with a revolver on his hip and 6 rounds in the cylinder, backed up with 10 rounds in a pouch on his belt and a pair of handcuffs. He marveled at how our troopers are equipped today, hi-cap semi-autos, a 12ga, an AR and plenty of ammo. How times have changed...
