USFA ZIP

I have two passions, S&W and USFA revolvers. It has been very hard to find the USFA's due to low production or no production. I found out why today!! I introduce the ZIP, this is the promotional paragraph:

"US Firearms has developed a nifty modular .22 firearms system called the ZIP. This little rectangular gun will be available in a pistol configuration or an SBR configuration. The SBR can be accessorised with a number of stocks or used as a secondary gun mounted underneath a rifle"

Cover your eyes if you do not want to see what USFA has created!!

That is one odd duck. I always wanted one of the USFA 22 revolvers but I've never even seen one. I think they were 10 or 12 shot cylinders. I had a Rodeo for a while but took it to a gunshow, priced it too high and sold it.

I've owned two USFA revolvers, and was given a tour of the factory some years back. Both were outstanding handguns, and both exemplified top craftsmanship. I sold the first (.45LC Buntline) and purchased a SOCOM II, while the second (.357 Rodeo) was recently traded for a used 696. The USFAs held enough value for me to obtain other firearms that would have otherwise been sizeable $ outlays. Finding USFAs is a chore, and some models are advertised, but never see more than limited production to the public (remember the 1910 and 1911?). If you have the financial resources and can find a USFA, you'll own an heirloom quality SA.

As for the ZIP gun, I cannot comment as it strays far from the USFA product line that I am familiar with.

I have a USFA single action, blue and c/c, 4 3/4" .44 Special. It's as nice as any Colt 2nd Generation.

I'll pass on the ZIP.

Jumping on the taktikal band wagon. Lots of good ideas from this company, but very limited production / demand. Below is my USFA 4 3/4 inch .44 spl. / 44-40 convertible.

I stumbled into a USFA in 32-20 and contacted the factory to get a second cylinder in 327 magnum. You all might of read about the shipping lunacy I had to deal with. Well I find another USFA in 32-20 and want another cylinder. I was told "Nope, we are to busy until after the new year. Now I understand why!!

Guys, the company has sold off a bucket load of machines and basically is shutting down. I have it on pretty good authority that if you want an SA you most likely will be dealing on the secondary market in the very near future. It was always a hobby business for the very very wealthy owner and it would appear that he has lost interest in continuing. As I said before this is not absolute just a very very strong hunch from one of the largest customers that happens to be a good friend of mine.

I thought the Mossburg (Tacticool) Lever Gun was Ugly.
I just can't picture this coming out of the same facility as
their Single Actions.
