Ordered two 10-rounders from S&W and they are just as long as the standards.

You ordered the wrong ones. The short ones are a separate item. Several places have them, including 44mag.com.

I clicked like on that but I really don't like that. I'm just forced to agree. I helped a buddy select a M&P 40 last night for his very first S&W and the seller said he loved them so much he bought a left handed version that is pretty rare. Ummm... Really...
