I am asked this every Xmas. Surely the question should be "What did you give for Xmas?"

It would be nice to get away from the greed of wanting material possessions and replace it with charity and love. But why should it be limited to one day a year.

I don't have much to give other than my friendship. That must be worth more than all the money in the world.

And we go through the whole excessive drinking an gluttony thing again next week. Why? I'll spend the evening with a dear old French friend and his friends. A few drinks and snacks, nothing excessive, then home to bed. Just being nice to each other. No fireworks, no count down to midnight. I will feel happy that I have been in the company of nice people regardless of the date.

So if you see someone begging on the street on new year's eve take him or her to MacDonald's for a meal. Or even better invite him or her into your home. If you claim to be a Christian, be one. I'm not, but I think I have a better understanding of what it should mean than many who claim to be.

Seasonal greetings to all and a Happy new number on the calendar next week.

I asked Santa for a PC13, or at least another .357 LadySmith, but I didn't even get one of these:

Santa brought me a Dillon 550B press with 38/357 & 45 ACP conversions with die sets, 4 lbs each of Bullseye & Unique, 2 lbs 4227, 5K each of Lg pistol & Sm pistol, 1 Safariland comp speed loader to evaluate, & a set of Pachmayr J frame boot grips.

I gave my family a lot of smaller gifts that made them very happy. They are so very hard to shop for. So, all in all it was a good XMAS for me and my family.

My wife made two picture albums of my mother, who passed when I was five years old.

Due to her side of the family being mostly estranged from each other (I still don't understand how that happens, it's just stupid), I had precious few photos of her. They fit into a small box, about a dozen.

She filled two albums full of photos I had never seen before!! It took her two years to gather copies from my dad, my grandfather, and my aunts and uncles. This was no easy feat....

I'm very fortunate in that I don't want for much, except maybe a few Bucket List items which fall outside the realm of reality:rolleyes:

It took my breath away.

When is this "X-mas" you speak of? ;)

My children woke me up at 6:30, which was a little earlier than I wanted to get up today. I did enjoy watching my son play with his new monster trucks and my girl with her little starter sewing machine. After that we cleaned out the rooms and made a pile of toys to go to the location donation center.

I agree that truly celebrating the holiday is waking up the next day with a renewed sense of gratitude and service. We are very fortunate for the many blessings we have and the only way to keep that in mind, for me personally, is to actively find ways to help the less fortunate. I tend to forget otherwise and I need to do a lot better with this.

I like it. Well done. Keep it up.

My best friend gave me a K22 revolver that has been in his family for 50+ years. Totally unexpected. I'm still in shock.

My wonderful girlfriend gave me a Masterbuilt electric smoker this year, and her folks got me a smoking cookbook to go with it. Never smoked meat in my life, but I love the way it tastes so much I figure I might as well learn. Just seems like it's fun. Spent yesterday with her folks, and today with my Dad, who cooked us a steak. All in all, a GREAT Christmas for me, and I couldn't be more thankful to have these people in my life.

Well, I have my beautiful wife, who has survived two years after her cancer diagnosis, two of my stepsons who are here to visit, a lovely Christmas dinner with family, and some **** that was under the tree. My dog got to chase squirrels, one of our cats got to eat birds, and we are waiting for the grandkids to show up.

Yesterday we had a man knock on our door asking for help to pay his power bill. We did what we could to help him. We may never see the man again but I just hope he got or gets the help he needed. I was reminded of a song by Grandpa Jones called The Christmas Guest, I was just glad I could help.
My wife got me Forza 4 for the Xbox 360 , and a pair of Justin western boots. My mom and step father came in this morning for Christmas. It is nice having them come to us for a change.
