NYS Politicians make 3rd Mistake

Who are they going to set free from prisons to make room for those super evil non-registrars?

They already let cold blooded murders out after 15 years in NYS.. They'll drop the murder incarceration time to 10 years to make room for the people that get caught with hi cap magazines.... makes sense right?

I highly recommend following the link in the OP and read what is there, especially where it says "click here". You are looking at what the Dems will be passing in the US Congress by spring. This will be the start of a total ban and confiscation of ALL firearms. I don't want to break anyone's rice bowl, but this country is being run by a small group of politicians who want total control of everything we do or say. Don't let them!

I agree. its not over. Not nearly. New York is just the first step. The elitists that run that state are the same as those in DC. To them the ends justify the means. I hate to see gun owners relaxing and thinking its finished. They are coming. Don't expect a fair fight.

Well, maybe I underestimated New York gun owners. I just posted in another thread that I think the gun owners outnumber the enforcement personnel probably more than 100 to 1 and they should use their strength to overwhelm this power mongering dictator wannabe, Andrew Cuomo. It's now time to stand and fight. Peaceably but forcefully. You fellas and ladies up in New York have a real opportunity turn this thing around not only on Cuomo and his cronies but the rest of the control freaks in Washington. This is a test to see how it will go.

Did you see what the original bill in New York originally had in it:

1.Confiscation of “assault weapons”
2.Confiscation [of] ten round clips
3.Statewide database for ALL Guns
4.Continue to allow pistol permit holder’s information to be replaced to the public
5.Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as “assault weapons”
6.Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7.Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8.Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9.Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10.Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11.State issued pistol permits
12.Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13.Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14.Mandatory locking of guns at home
15.Fee for licensing, registering weapons

Here Are the Rejected, ‘Unpatriotic’ Amendments From the NY Gun Law That One Dem Preferred Not Be Seen | Video | TheBlaze.com

If you go ahead and watch some of the discussions that were going on the floor of that Assembly from some of the other videos, you will see that the Speaker and the floor managers of this rushed legislation had one thing in their minds: get this bill through the process as quickly as they could with as little discussion as possible. They wanted no bothersome input from the public which would be nothing but interference with their plans to void your rights to own guns and buy ammo for them.

We must draw a line in the sand that extends far back from where this has gotten to at this point. These elected representatives that are supposed to represent the people ignored your rights and as a matter of fact they trampled all over your rights. They trampled all over the trust that was given them by the people just as surely as they trampled all over the Constitution. There has to be a stop put to this and never let it happen again!!!!!!!!!

I have to heed my own advice about civility and giving the other side power from my own inflammatory speech. I wasn't always careful about what I said and my own words used against me to be accused of fanning the flames. Sometimes my words are inflammatory. For better or worse it's something I learned because of the passion I possess about freedom and being invloved in this for a long time. I also learned from the past to use that torch for light and not for starting destructive brush fires.

Suffice it to say I surely am damn angry about this usurping of power from the people and the rights taken by those that don't care one wit about rights or freedom and liberty. Now where in the heck did I put that soapbox, anyone seen it?

Politicians are pushing and testing the limits of their constituencies. They're going to find out that they're kinda like a kid who teases a dog until the dog finally has had enough and bites him.

NYPD Cops Impacted by Magazine Limit?

Someone told me that the politicians in NY have, or are going to limit NYPD cops to mags that only hold seven rounds. As crazy as all this gun control stuff can get I cannot imagine this is true. Does anyone know an NYPD cop or can otherwise confirm that this is complete nonsense? NYPD coppers would have sounded off long before now if it was.

They drafted the bill so fast they forgot to exempt them...cops will not be limited to 7....but retired cops might be if they redraft it only for current LEOs...that's what my brother is worried about.

The current law as written has no exemption for cops in any agency in NYS, even the troopers who helped craft the law. They ARE going to amend it, count on it. Even as written they have until 4/15 to comply, I haven't seen any cops with sawed off magazines.

Dave, send this link to Steve. It appears the NY Sheriffs are going to press the legislature to make many changes to Cuomocare, including allowing retired cops to be exempt from the magazine limits.

A retired cop has no more need for a normal capacity magazine than any other citizen.

All animals are equal.

So animals are more equal than others...

A rep from some The Benevolent Assn of Retired L/E/Os (or some such name close to that) was on TV pleading his case that retired L/E be exempt from the 7rd rule here in NYS.
His reason was that criminals won't be affected at all by the new law, either the magazine limits nor the A/W/Ban.
So retired L/E needs exemption from the law in case they have to protect themselves from these types of people.

The rest of the population just don't matter I guess...

The mag capacity of 7 is absolutely nuts and only being able to have 2 mag? How many burglars will get off while the homeowner goes to prison for firing 15 rounds?
Are they trying to make America a penal colony by making everyone a criminal? I ask because there is nothing in the NY laws that will protect anyone from a madman bent on killing.
