I live in Illinois. That alone is a need to vent. I know I need to move, but that is easier said than done. My FOID expired on 1-1-13. I mailed in my renewal along with my check the middle of November when the state sent me my paperwork. I still haven't received my new FOID card. I called ISP and they said my check just cleared on 1-2-13! They are telling me 60-90 days until it will be issued. They were nice enough to tell me I can't touch my guns legally until I receive the new card! I reminded the guy state law says they have to provide me a card within 30 days. He told me they are behind in applications. I would say so!

End of rant

Ps. Now I'm sure I will walk into my LGS and they will have a cherry 28 no dash for a rediculously low price. At least my wife has her card.

Sorry for your troubles, when I read posts like this I'm so glad I live in a state that respects the 2nd amendment. Hang in there...

Glad i live one state to your east.
Our state legislature is trying to pass a law requiring
State Colleges allowing students the right to CCW.
Hows that for a diffence in thinking compared to
the "chicago" way. Also has been a proposal to have
teachers trained and armed in all schools.
It took 3 weeks for my "Lifetime" carry permit
was mailed to me.

You have my sympathy. I grew up in Illinois. Missouri is better in so many ways. Come on over if you can.

That sucks. I am also glad I reside in a state where (for the time being) I don't have those restrictions. I do worry that the current political tide is going to change it, I just hope that people on both sides can keep their cool and do what makes sense for all, not just for the haters.

Way before the recent shootings I waited about 9 months in NJ for my Firearms ID and purchase permits. Yeah, the book says 30 days here too. lol. I have 3 nephews who are LEOs and they wait just like me. How sad is that.

Missouri has an excellent provision to prevent delays in getting a CCW permit: the sheriff has 45 days to approve or deny an application regardless of whether all background checks have been completed. If it takes longer than that, the permit is automatically approved.

You might keep your fingers crossed. With the rants from your representatives, the card may not get approved at all.

Government should believe in liberty. Sorry your's forgot who they work for.

I,m about 30 days before you and still haven't received my card. They cashed the check on 12/14 that I sent in October. Good efficient government .

Think all those gang people have an updated foid card. "Sorry homie I can't go on the drive by, my foid card is expired." ya right.

First---If she purchases the 28 for you it is a straw purchase---you are not legal.
SECOND---venting need to be done in a bathroom with a good ventelation system so that others cannot smell your venting.
But then again---I am guilty of venting about venting, which I do all the time and mine smells like yours so I apologize for smellin up your venting with my venting as I do not have a good ventillation system either or is it neither-------
Er, what are we discussing ?
Blessings

I sent in my check on Oct 9th, 2012.. Check was cashed on Oct 29th. I called after about 45 days from that point (mid-Dec) and was told my app was in background. After another month I called back again (Jan 23, 2013) and was advised it was still in background. They said they would have their supervisor manually push it through background and should have it within 30 days.
Well, here we are on Feb 1, 2013 and the card has finally arrived.

Seems like there might be ground for a law suit against the state for not following there own laws. Are the enough people to want to file a class action suit? I am not a lawyer nor do I pretend to know anything about it; I was just thinking with my fingers out loud.
