guys when you shoot your kid or wife with this homebuilt "kit" that has not been track or time tested you might want to THINK before you install

The 22 has a firing pin block as well. It is not going to go off if you drop it. The safety just blocks the trigger bar from actuating. It doesn't stop the sear from actuating.... The full size safety works in the same way...

Good call. I totally didn't check for that. That makes much more sense.
I've been a smith for over 40yrs. & have & shoot all models in the M&P series ...the .22 is Walther made & does NOT have a striker block like S&W made weapons...all my M&P's have safety plugs but the .22 ...I left the factory safety on because it doesn't have a striker block ...take your own apart & look !
mag disconnect...you need to look at the Walther prints if you can sleep at night go for it I'm out....have a nice day..![]()
Haha yeah no... That is the most retarded thing I have heard in a while... This is the magazine safety... It is actuated by the magazine... I feel sorry for your customers...

Wait, magazine safety? This isn't a product for the magazine safety...
Sorry tinn-can, it looks like you were referring to Kendal.
Man, I'm really confused now between kendak and tinn-can's comments.
I don't have my S&W with me for evaluation so I'm going off this thread.
Can anyone show us the hammer block safety AND the magazine disconnect safety using pics?
And explain how they function?
Question: Can the safety mechanism be left in place (set to live position) and only the levers removed, then plugged? I recall seeing a YouTube video where the guy only removes just the levers, then re-assembles the pistol, which left the holes. I don't remember if other internal adjustments were made, but the safety mechanism was still intact. Will this option work with installing the plugs only? Just wondering.
Upon a re-review of the YouTube video, it looks as though plugs will not fit with the original safety mechanism lever rod intact. The rod extends out too far on both sides due to how the levers attach to it.
@jobiin, will your new shorter rod work if one wanted to keep the safety mechanism in place? Is it even mechanically possible?
