Black day in Colorado

My wife and I love vacationing in Colorado. I am sorry to say that until they come to their senses we will go elsewhere. If in the next election these people are not voted out then I would move if I lived there. Maybe when there is no one left they will see the light.

what about taking guns into Colorado on vacation? Any changes ? I usually carry several including high cap glock

No more Coors Light for me. Not that I drink it now anyway. No more ski vacations. Sorry CO, you lost my business.

What is their problem with taking a gun to a gunsmith who is a licensed FFL?? Not that anything Govt does makes sense but this makes no sense to me at all?? This will put every gunsmith out of business??

If a gun can be fixed on the spot while you wait, it does not have to be entered into a bound book, if you leave it overnight it is entered but it's not a transfer of ownership, it is marked as repair.

So if you have SW under warranty you can't ship it back to SW and then it ships back to your house??

"Here is an example of the mentality... HB1224, written and passed by Colorado's Democrat majority on a party line vote, makes it an illegal transfer to give your gun to a licensed gunsmith for repair. How many law-abiding citizens will be injured or killed by back-alley gunsmiths who botch an illegal repair?"

We should all pay attention to what party all of the gun grabbers belong to.It appears to me that Democrats = gun-grabbers and do not understand the 2nd amendment .I feel sorry for the gun owners of Colorado. Don't give up keep the pressure on them maybe you can vote some of them out in Nov.

Have spent several thousands of $$ there hunting in my life. Not another penny will cross the border into Kolorado from my hands in Kansas.Maybe we should all boycott that hunting industry and see how they like that.Millions spent there every year.Slow

Well, I know that elections have consequences, but not voting has even greater consequences. I'm willing to bet too many Conservatives have become just too darn complacent. I know in my neighborhood and circle of friends and acquaintences, all whom admit to Conservative values, more then half did not vote last November; what does that tell you?;)

Now is the time to defend your 2A rights by becoming pro-active, volunteering for the right candidates who support gun rights, find candidates who can win, and who appeal across all ethnic, racial, and religious lines, and that includes women. Look around and see who can win, and support them like a bad habit.

Lastly, make sure the candidates you support are vetted well; y'all don't need another Christine O'Donnell, bless her heart, who I supported, but proved to have just a tad too many of those proverbial skeletons in the closet.

Good luck Colorado, and I won't be visiting anytime soon, since my youngest daughter has decided against the Air Force Academy, and I'm pushing for her to choose the Coast Guard Academy, so unless CO becomes a red state, it's nice knowin' ya'. :(

It tells me we didn't have a choice; a Chicago liberal or a Massachussetts liberal.

I doubt seriously that those will stand up to a legal challenge seems more for show

At one time I believed that unjust laws and decrees could be rectified in a court of law. I’m no longer so optimistic.

Make no mistake: These new gun laws and decrees go much deeper than magazine capacity and rate of fire. This is only one battle in the war of individualism vs. collectivism.

It tells me that after four years, if they couldn't see enough difference between the two candidates to go vote, they either had an incurable problem or just didn't care where the country was headed.

My bad -- that was HB1229. Sorry. This is the one regarding transfers and, according to the debates, temporary "loans" are now considered transfers.

I agree the whole mess of laws sucks but as I read it, it will not change taking a gun to a gun smith.

To be a smith, they must be a FFL(licensed) This bill talks about a person who is not a licensed dealer.

Regardless what a bunch of non sense. I wish you all luck and hope things can be appealed.

I am currently a NV resident that lives in GA and I worry every day about the influence CA has on its neighbor. VOTEM' OUT!

Thats the problem, its just not that easy to vote them out, they have the votes to KEEP THEM IN. No one that supports gun rights would have ever voted for these people the first time around to begin with. Its worth a shot to spread the word and to try and get them out but just saying..vote them out... is not as easy as going to the grocery store and changing the brand of soda you usually buy. I think the more effective route is to have business that support the 2A being in the gun industry or not to no longer do business with them or to leave if it is possible for them to do so and for us as citizens to inject no cash flow into CO. They need to be hit where it really hurts which is in the financial pocket of the state. They just cannot pass blatant useless laws w/ out repercussions. I think driving the state to financial ruin drives the point home more so then trying to vote out a base that has the votes to stay where they are. As stated they control all 3 aspects of the state, obviously they have a strong base of democratic and liberal support.

Im not saying people should not vote or should not encourage others to do so but just overturning that kind of majority is hard. Look at how liberal CA and MA and other states have been for so long. Just changing that in an election cycle is very difficult. Even if you got some of them out of office would it be enough to swing the majority? It would be like dropping a pebble in a lake expecting to be able to span the shores. If these states decide that they want to be run this way then let them have it, let them wallow in their own liberal agenda's and ideas and reap the repercussions because of it.

Bobc357,
I know the frustration and anger you are feeling right now. I'm a resident of NY. My first reaction was to pack up and leave this state and it still remains an option. I have choosen to get even more involved and to donate more of my time and money to overturn these ridiculous new laws our supposed elected officials have forced upon us.
We will not forget who supported these unconstitutional laws and we will do a better job of running candidates who share our values. We will be heard and we will use our buying powers to support buisnesses who share our views and not support the ones who don't. I've talked at least 5-7 friends to join the NRA and have written the NRA asking for their help.
I know it's hard right now but after you get over your shock get busy.
The leftists may win our states but I'm not going to give it to them without a fight.

You need to read section 6 of 1229 to see when you don't have to get a background check on the person you are transferring possession of the gun to. BTW they added transfers to facilitate repair and maintenance to the list of exceptions so you can give it to your gunsmith. If the gunsmith is licensed he or she can return it to you without getting the check done on you (unless it is entered in the bound book i.e. it had an overnight stay).

This is an incremental war on rights and a mental tug of war to see how far people can be pushed. Thanks for getting the news out and stay tough. Civil disobedience is not a choice any of us want to make.. but the criminalization of John Doe American for political gain may be what it'll take to wake up the the non-engaged....By all means.. boycott Colorado and cost them every cent and job you can. Find somewhere else to hunt and ski for a few years. It worked to get the pornographs out of the airports... Many of us stopped traveling by air altogether... money talks.

I don't quite see how boycotting Colorado actually hurts the government, but it does affect the little guy....

It's the little guys in CO that voted for your current state govt. Until they decide they have had enough of this political nonsense, they must pay.
