If I Had A Dollar For Every Time I Said This Was Complete...

Great looking 15-22!

I really like it...alot.

If I didn't suffer from a lack of painting skills I might try something like that. With the lack of painting skills,I better not.

Thanks...it wasn't really that hard. To prep, I cleaned it with either denatured alcohol or acetone (don't remember which), and just hung up the parts (disassembled) on strings and painted in several very light coats. I sacrificed one magazine to test 3 or 4 different paint colors before landing on the one that I used. I think the primer coat (something intended for plastic car parts) was key to getting the paint to stick this well. Then, re-assembly was just a matter of getting the paint out of the smaller holes (takedown pins, etc) without chipping anything on the outside of the lower. It was fun to do, and was a pretty good learning experience taking everything apart. The best part? It still goes boom every time I pull the trigger! :)

Nice rifle. Which barrel did you choose from the SW site? Is this the standard barrel with just the flash removed to fit? I am assuming you remove the flash hider and screw on the spikes

It's just the common one with the threaded flash hider removed. The can is threaded on in it's place.

Nice rifle! Do you really shoot it a lot with the 5.56 can on it? I would be afraid that 22LR ammo would really foul up the inside of a good 5.56 can.

Oops, sorry. I didn't read it was a fake can.

A decent 5.56mm can (read no aluminium) can be cleaned in a sonic cleaner. .22 fouling isn't much of a problem.

It is only a real problem with one piece aluminium cans.

That's not a suppressor.

Question. Is that flat dark earth on the stock and rail covers or did you paint that too? Pictures of the rifle with flat dark earth seem lighter. I like the color in those pictures

Thanks for the comments. The main parts of the rifle (upper, lower, rails) are all painted in Satin Fossil Rustoleum. The stock, rail covers, and grip are all OEM Magpul FDE.

Did you put the .070 butt pad on the stock for function or looks? I like the looks and have considered putting one on my CTR stock.
