Call them jeans, blue jeans, dungarees, whatever, has anyone noticed the great American pair has become a rag that fits nobody over the age of 16.

After being a life long Levis 505 wearer I have recently discovered they don't care about clothing the aging baby boomer, you know, the demographic that kept them alive and an American icon sought out throughout the world.

I usually resupply bluejeans about every 5 or 6 years and was horrified to find the new version sucks. Sits below the waist and is as thin as tissue paper and poorly made.

Found refuge in Lee, still a nice heavy fabric that sits at the waist where people my age need to wear them.

If you haven't been to the store, you're in for a rude awakening.

The Levi's Denizen line from Target is what I had to move to. It's sad that most of today's jeans don't allow for much butt, or anything up front. I need space for my family jewels. I look at guys wearing skinny jeans and can't imagine where their junk is, let alone how the heck they sit down.

Look at the blue jeans from LL Bean.

Also look at the work pants from Duluth Trading Company and Arborwear. Both have a gusseted crotch...no more smashed nutz with a quick bendover.

Carhardt does nice jeans as well. NOT hipster jeans...regular guy jeans.

I hate tight jeans. Like the RELAXED OLD GUY fit with the roomy crotch now.

I quit wearing Levis when they started being made outside the USA with a lighter fabric by people who don't speak English and who don't pay taxes to the American government.

I've been a Wranglers fan, for the most part, for the last 45 years. Their traditional style, 13MWZ, has always seemed to fit. In fact, I'm wearing a pair now. And they're made in the USA.

Besides, if you haven't noticed, the heavy seam is located on the inside of the leg on a pair of Levis. It's located on the outside on a pair of Wranglers. Doesn't seem like a big thing, but when you're in the saddle all day, you notice. Believe me...you notice. Another reason I go with Wranglers.

I've been wearing Double LL jeans fro LL Bean for over 30 years. They've gotten more expensive but haven't changed weight, fabric or fit. Occasionally I try on something else but ultimately "pass". I did buy a pair on sale recently on line from Cabelas and was impressed by them.

I have a problem with my side of the closet.. It shrinks my jeans!! Really it does. No matter how hard I try I cannot figure out why!

You might try JC Penny's Arizona "Loose Fit". Still $20 and frequently on sale for less. The Wrangler loose fit are okay too. I buy those at outlet stores for about $14 a pair.
