They may not be as sexy as a blued model 27, as iconic as a model 29, or as handy as a J-frame, but I think the workhorse 686 may be my favorite overall revolver. I finally got my 6" back from my Dad, so here is my complete (so far) collection:
2 1/2" No-dash
3" dash-5+ DAO with night sites
4" CS-1
4" dash-5+ Mtn Gun
6" dash-4+
Lets see some of yours!

Very nice revolvers!

I will be able to post in this thread eventually. Just need to find that 3" 686+ that has my name on it... Someday, someday... :D

I ordered them from Mepro. Gunsmith was cussin cause he said they were kind of a bear to install, but I'm happy with the result!

Thank You ! Do you happen to still have the model number of the sights ? Searching the Mepro site yeilded no results, nor did using their search function. But, Im not real good at computers... LOL. But I CAN shoot !:D

Hey Flattops. I found them on the Kimber site. I'm pretty sure this link is the right ones, but they are showing out of stock right now:
Kimber America > Products

I've had quite a few, now down to just one, this dash 3

Sorry for no snubbies but I'm not into them. The only one I have is a 2-1/2" 66-4 and I only bought it because the gun was like new and the asking price was very reasonable.

Here's my 686 4" with factory black finish I use in IDPA. The grips are Spegel Extended Boot Grips. While not custom fit to the gun, the fit is so precise that custom fitting would not have been any better. The gun has been to the Performance Center for their Master Action Job. The shine on the cylinder in the second picture is where the PC chamfered the charge holes.

Here is my 6" 686 in factory black with a set of Nill Classic grips. Though not very accurate with any 38 Special ammo that I can find, it's very accurate with Winchester Silver Tip ammo.
