M&P 15 22-25 round magazine availability

I think they are still making them, and will right up untill any possible ban would come into effect. Even in NY, there was almost 2 months from when the new law was passed, until it took effect. S&W still has to be making the 25 round mags or they wouldnt have any to ship with new rifles, and it wouldnt make sense to stop making something because it "might" become illegal. Now would be the time to be producing them in higher volumes than normal. Its been 3 months since the shooting in CT, and thats a lot of time to be making money on mags. I personally dont think they have the votes now to ban assault rifles and hi cap magazines. I look for the supposed gun show loophole to be tightened up along with better background checks for now... but things can change

there will not be any more oem 25 rounders because the high cap mag ban will go into effect way before s&w will commit money to producing them. they wont make them if they cannot sell them.

i think we are weeks away from the ban.
Any mags produced before a ban if there is one (not likely) will still be sold as preban. Smith and Wesson is still producing mags and taking orders . There are no mags to be found because hoarders are scarffing them up to sell at these ridiculous prices . They will get buying them when this legislation falls on its face . Then supply will cacth up with demand and hopefully the hoarders will lose lots of money on mags they paid to much for .

Got a call from the LGS today that they got a shipment of 25 round S&W mags in. No 10 round shorties though; I need a couple of those for my grand daughter to use. They were closed before I could drop by to check them out.

These have been in stock for 3 full days. Hopefully a "good" sign things are calming down a little. (at least on the magazine front ;) )

Probably because there are a lot of SW backorders :) ... I almost ordered some but since I got a pending charge from SW I will wait for the ones I backordered. Glad everyone is getting a chance to get some. Still waiting on my impactguns order of PMags too.

Tracking my Midway orders shows my mags en route and two days away. Same time frame for my Raveneye buttons. Should have them converted by the weekend. Still no sign of my mags ordered from S&W. I could really use the 10-round shorty, since my 15-22 came with the 25-round magazine.

Are these the same general magazine as the OEM, only longer?

I bought 2 OEM 25 rd mags Sat at a LGS here in Spokane for 18.99 + tax. Shop had about 20 of them and still had some yesterday.

I called S&W on 4/01 and ordered 2 - 25 round mags, was told they were on backorder. They showed up around the 24th or 25th, so give it a try.

I ordered 32 round promag, calld to check if shipped and was told order was cancled....no 30 round mags sent to ohio.Called where I got my 15-22 and they had three S&W 25 rd mags.I told him to hold 1 till I got there-got there and bought all 3.

They misunderstand the law. Here is what I found on 30+rd mags in Ohio...

“Automatic firearm” means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. “Automatic firearm” also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges.

Note: So any magazine that can hold more than 30 rounds other than a 22 caliber rim fire is considered an Automatic Weapon/Machine Gun.
