Hello,,
I am a new member of this forum, I'm from the Middle East, and the reason I joined here is this Revolver ..
It's old, and very light weight, and my father says that precious and he has 15 years ago from an old friend ..
Can you tell me about the history of this Revolver and year of manufacture and the number of handguns that are made of this generation?!
These pictures of the Revolver ..

Thank you all ..

Welcome! It's a model 38, a J or small aluminum alloy frame .38 Special. It has a nickel finish. It probably left the factory in early 1984 per the letter/number code on the bottom of the grip frame. The exact production number is probably well into multiple tens of thousands, but the same basic size gun has been made since the early 1950s into the several hundreds of thousands. Hope this is helpful.

Nice gun. As murphydog said, S&W calls that the Model 38 Bodyguard. It's one of the better guns available for carry. I have one in blue and love it. I would avoid harsh, bore-cleaner-type solvents on the exterior nickel finish.

Nice little gun. I have had a couple of M38's, but I moved over to the M649 as I am a stainless nut.

Take care of that little fella.....they don't make those anymore.

He is right. It is kind of rare here, i imaging it is REAL rare where you are. I carry the exact same gun in an Uncle Mikes size #3 pocket holster.
