I have a 9mm and its shoots great and carries well. Now I want to had some tritium sights, but I am unable to find any except XS sights that say they fit the Shield. Does anyone have NS on their Shield and what kind.
Thanks

Same sights for the compact models will fit the shield. Trijicon and warren ns will fit. Have warren idots on mine. The trijicons are good also but I prefer the straight eight configuration of the wardens.

I like the XS BigDots. Have them on all my Glocks as well.

TruGlo customer service answered my e-mail and said their sights for M&P would fit Shield with a slight overhang. They will be coming out with a narrower sight base to fit Shield with no overhang.

+1

Great sights for aging eyes. With practice I can now shoot tighter groups at 7 yards with my Shield with XS Big Dot than my full size XD 45 with 3 dot sights.

Another bonus the rear XS sight does not catch on my pocket like the stock sights did when I would draw.

P.S. YouTube XS Big Dot. I found one from XS that shot the camera down the sight while shooting. It really gives you a good idea how the combat sights operate.

I put Ameriglo SW-145 on mine. Put them on myself with the MGW sight pusher tool. The MGW tool does work on the Shield if you take care to do it right...

Oh and the Ameriglo sights fit the Shield correctly with no overhang...

More reliable

Trijicon makes a set of night sights that glow at night, it is not a tru glo type system that helps in low light. They are a little more pricey tho

AmeriGlo SW-145 (Classic 3-dot). Made for the Shield.

The nice advantage of the AmeriGlo over other tritium sights is that the AmeriGlo is kind of a hybrid. Has white surrounding the tritium. Therefore, in daylight you see the white dots. At dusk, you still mainly see the white dots which show up better. At full darkness, the tritium green is just as bright as TruGlo.

FYI: The reason S&W does not have a night sight version of the Shield is because their testing showed that due to the recoil, night sights didn't hold up on them. My guess is that their testing was far more rounds than any of us would put through our Shields.

Also, the only reason S&W doesn't have a Shield w/o a manual safety is their extreme backlog. Once they get caught up on production, expect them to put engineering and production resources behind a Shield w/o a manual safety.

Can someone take a picture of the ameriglo 345. It says no color I just want to make sure I'm looking at the right ones from a real person. Thanks
