Most disappointing add-on part for your M&P15

Millet DMS-1 optic. Chinese junk it is. Replaced it with an ACOG.

Comparing apples to oranges, no comparison. About a $1200 difference in price as well.

The OP asked "what is the most disappointing part/accessory/addition that has been added to your M&P15?"

I wasn't comparing anything. I made a simple statement. I bought one item. It was junk. I replaced it. I didn't comment on the ACOG.

Edit: The only reason I didn't mention the Magpul M.O.E. handguard as being very disappointing was because I wasted more money on the DMS-1. ;)

Mine would be my Blackhawk quad rail. I really liked the looks but I had to enlarge 2 screw holes because they wouldn't line up after installed. Also, after a few months I realized the whole thing is slightly off center so the top rail doesn't line up with my rail on my upper. Not really that big of a deal but I expected more out of a piece that price. The final gripe is their customer service sucks. I called 2 times and got no answer and no reply to an email I sent.

Anything with the word "tactical" in its description. From what I have read on the internet, I should have become a "genuwyne" operator and be able to hit targets out to 1000 yards! Didn't work!

Sad but true. Anything with "tactical" in the description almost certainly isn't legitimate. It's almost a dirty word when talking about AR15ish stuff. Maybe because it's redundant?

I picked up a UTG Pro hand guard - it was $70. Fit perfectly on my AR, didn't rattle or loosen up, but it was heavy compared to others. Hence the $70 price tag.

Pulled it back off and reinstalled the original M4 style hand guard.

for me it would be the eotech 512 on my m&p15 t, the thing is huge... but it was an impulse buy.lol

They are rather large. A good friend loaned me one for a test drive on my shotgun. Even on that it was rather big. :D The XPS-2 series is much better with the CR-123 battery mounted crossways. I opted for that and have been very satisfied with it.

I'll tell you what, the most non-disappointing add on is the BCM Mod 4 charging handle. I put that on tonight and holy cow, night and day to the stock handle.

that's an ez choice ... everybody would agree on

that 1st scratch ,ding or idiot mark:eek:

I only bought one item I regretted, a QD cheap bi-pod mount.

Sent it back thru Amazon and am getting a Larue "Tactical" (Uh-oh) QD mount for my Harris.

"Buy cheap, buy twice"

BTW, that particular 'Tactical' company has a combo deal on the top drawer Harris bi-pod (9"-13") with their QD lever mount included for a pretty fair deal.

What about Wilson combat tactical trigger unit 3G single stage trigger...does that fall into the category or junk because it has the word tactical in it?

Anything with the words 'tactical', 'survival' or 'zombie' in it will sell and I am just as guilty as anyone else. My biggest disappoint was a UTG/Leapers 4x 'Tactical' scope and QD mount. It was soon replaced with a Burris AR 332 w/ a Burris QD mount and I have never looked back.

Where did you get your information?

I dont know where you are getting your information from but Millett is now owned by Bushnell and made here in the US. I have one of these scopes on my AR Rifle and I am very happy with it. I also work in the firearms department with AAFES and we sell these items quite often to go with AR Rifles.

Liebmeister - welcome aboard. You resurrected a thread from three years ago.

I do question your contention that Millett scopes are made in the US.
