I just received my Natchezss catalog today, They have bricks of 525 count 22's for sale. Price $39.95. If it is going in their catalog I assume it will be their "normal" price. unless someday they go "on sale".
New norm for 22 bricks?

If it's a printed catalog the copy for those 22's was probably submitted 3 or 4 months ago. Back in April or May 50 bucks was considered a "good" price for 22LR. Before you panic I would suggest that you look at what they are listing this ammo at on their web site.
Right now the Federal Champion 325 paks are listed at 18.99, however they are out of stock. The Winchester 555 pak of copper plated is listed at 32.63 and also out of stock.
Also, last weekend Cabela's had 500 round bricks of Winchester Wildcat on sale for, I think, 24.50 with a 1 brick limit. They also had at least 20 bricks on the shelf but as I don't need any 22 caliber at present I wasn't paying close attention. Just noticed it on the shelf with a 24.50 sale sign on the shelf. If they hadn't been right behind the display of primers I wouldn't have noticed it at all. So, don't consider that sale price as cast iron correct, if could have been for something on the next shelf down.

Got some today at that price.
Both the Fed 550s and Win 555s are 23.97+tax at WM. According to the tracker, the Fed 550s have been available almost every other day for the last week it seems. This is the first time in 9 months or so that it has been on shelves around here. I wonder if it's finally opening up, or just this region finally getting its turn. One thing seems certain, it will not be cheaper than $23.97 in the future.

Pre 2008 a brick was under $10.
After the first shortage in 2009 a brick was rarely under $20.
I'm afraid this shortage is going to double the price again and we will never see a $30 brick again let alone $20. I'm still angry I can't buy a brick of 22's for $10 again!!!
It's too bad my grandchildren will never know the joy of saving up some change to buy a box of .22's and shoot cans or squirrels in the field. Last box of Federal .22 ammo I saw was over $5/50 rounds. (a box that should cost no more than 99 cents) How many remember buying the 22 shorts because they were cheaper? Have you seen the price of 22 shorts now, or even seen 22 shorts? Very sad!

If everyone refused to buy 22lr for a year it would go down to $10-12 a brick. Don't let them panic you or it will never come down.

Yes there is something we can do, don't buy at that price. Let them choke on their inventory. If we are dumb enough to lay down and take it, then we deserve what we get.
Considering a brick of bulk broke $10 20 years ago in my neck of the woods, $25 ain't bad.

People bought and shot a lot of 22rf because it was cheap. This inexpensive ammo fostered casual shooting. By drastically raising the price of 22rf, perhaps the government and antis can reduce the number of people, and particularly young people, that go out and enjoy casual shooting. The ideal is to make casual and spot shooting a thing of the past. To wean Americans away from their love affair with guns. Only when the populace at large is disarmed, can big government be truly safe.
I recall just last year at my local Cabela's, you could go in any time and see tons of Federal 525 bricks for 14.99. I will not pay more than 19.99 for the same bricks. If I can not get it for that or under, than I will sell all my 22 guns and just concentrate on other calibers. 22's are not that important to me anyway.

From what I see... HV bulkpack $25 or a bit under is typical for large retailers.
Demand for .22LR had been steadily increasing well before the panic. Rimfire versions of centerfire rifles and pistols has gone crazy the past several years. This ain't your daddy's Marlin and 10/22 rimfire market of 20 years ago.

Just 22 ammo prices? Doubtful. That's just the beginning of disappointments for our grandkids regarding firearms. Soon, the word "guns" will be added to the level of four letter words meaning obscenity. As I like to say: "this is not your daddy's world anymore".

Only .22LR ammo I've found in Kansas during the last week was for 100 rds of CCI Mini mags for $30 at a gunshop. Cableas in KC had Eley .22 Match for $20 and the PX on Ft Riley has Laupa Match for $21, those are both 50 rd boxes. Unless I get lucky at WalMart tomorrow, don't think I'll be shooting Saturday.
