Will it be available in Pink? Maybe with a flower etched around the hole? I, like Broker 50, think they should fix what they're making now before venturing out with a new holer.

Did S&W make a 44 Special in a L frame? I thought it was only available on a N frame. Please school me!

696, I think, a 5 shot revolver that if I recall right came in 2 formats, one of which was a Mountain Gun like version, and the 296, a really big centennial style, looking like a 342 on 'roids. Maybe more, not my area of knowledge, although I have and like the 296.

I want one!

Love me a 44, and the new m69 is really tripping my trigger.....

So many S&W's, so little extra dinero! :(

I have to go pay for a nearly mint condition 28-2 this week.... It never ends.

This is an L frame, Model 696, chambered in .44 Special. There were some issues with N frame Model 624 guns which had cylinder issues. This one's a five-round revolver, and it's tough as nails. I've trusted my life with it.

With all the problems S&W had from L-frames in 44 Spl breaking, I wonder what they've done to believe an L-frame 44 Mag will hold up? A 2-piece barrel & ball-detent? I suppose time will tell.

Problems with the 696?!

I haven't heard of them. What would they be?

Thin forcing cone I understand, but other than that...

As I posted on the other Model 69 thread, I have a 696 and love it. I probably will not buy a new 69, not because of the lock or MIM, but because the 696 is all I need. Since they discontinued the 696 and current guns are rarely on the market and very expensive when they are, I think the Model 69 will sell very well. I don't know if people will fire magnum ammo from it, just like I doubt most shoot 357 mag ammo from the new model 60's, but it will be a great gun with 44 special ammo.

I had a 15gr of 2400 load with a 240gr XTP or hard cast lead bullet I shot a few times from my 696 years ago. It made 1000fps and was a handful. I also carried it in bear country, I figure a similar load with a 280-300gr bullet at 950fps will be very controllable and a great bear stopper in the M69. Easy load to produce with 44 Mag brass.
