I guess this will suit the lawmakers fine.

MILLER: Smith & Wesson to stop selling guns in California due to microstamping law - Washington Times

Smith & Wesson announced it will stop selling its handguns in California rather than manufacture them to comply with the new microstamping law. The other publicly traded firearms manufacturer in the U.S., Sturm, Ruger, also said this month that it will stop new sales to California.

The announcement late Wednesday came a week after the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for firearms manufacturers, filed suit against California for requiring that all new semi-automatic pistols that are not already on the state's approved gun roster have the microstamping technology.

I saw that on Drudge this morning.

I wonder if that includes LE sales too?

Dang, and I JUST developed a successful way to add microstamping to a pistol or revolver for under $2 per gun. :(

Oh, well, another idea I will shelve!

:D

We'll, this will certainly guarantee that the criminals won't be able to get firearms now.

Nice job, Kalifornistan.

Sorry to hear that for the conservative people that still live in CA, but it would be nice if we get S&W to drop the lock out of this deal.

I would like to see all firearms companies stop selling to ca and all "ban" states, NY<NJ<MD<MA< etc starting with LE FIRST. No parts, no repair, no warranty, no service. Basically what Barrett did. If the industry got together and said NO to the ban states ( if no sales to civilians then no sales to LE ) mags, guns, parts etc change would come about quickly. Since mayors, governors, PC,s, state level reps/sen etc would have a " Protection team armed with sticks, knives, pepper spray" What can/could the state do? Ban firearms? Confiscate firearms from civilians? " This way everyone in the state would be "SAFE" since criminals would not be able to buy guns!! We would see a large number of the liberal anti-gunners have a change of heart and for those that stated " I would rather die than use a firearm for self defense" let nature take it's course, thin the herd. Be Safe,

So now CA required the firing pin to imprint the case with the guns ID. How long do you think it will take the bad guys to figure out how to deface or change the firing pin??

Or switch to using revolvers?? Just another "No common sense" law passed by a retarded legislature.

.

Awhile. Last I heard the technology for microstamping doesn't exist yet. The law suites on this will be interesting.

What's sad is the same liberals in California who voted for the politicians who passed that **** are slowly moving out of California and to other states. Example: Colorado. NY and NJ liberals are also moving into PA. Typical liberal logic: Ruin a state by limiting their rights, destroying business, and raising taxes then move onto another state and repeat.

What the lib lawmakers don't understand, is that criminals do
not obtain their guns lawfully. Therefore any microstamped gun
leaving a shell casing at a crime scene will only implicate the
law abiding person that the gun was stolen from.

Law enforcement is exempt from the roster and magazine restrictions... well... they're exempt from most laws of that sort.

Whether Ruger & S&W will sell to them... who knows?

On calguns there is debate about the real intentions here and whether it will be effective.

On the surface this seems exactly what the leftists want and fulfills the reason for the roster in the first place. Many are wondering if Ruger & S&W are part of the legal strategy. If that were the case and I was Ruger or S&W I would be keeping my cards close to the vest as well.

the microstamping technology as CA DOJ describes it doesn't really exist yet.

not obtain their guns lawfully.

They understand that perfectly. They are not stupid. Their goal is the disarming of law abiding citizens. Public safety has nothing to do with it.
