Thanks to a fellow forum member who sold me a fluted Model 627 cylinder which I had fitted to my gun yesterday, and to Grip Maker Craig Spegel who made the Ebony grips, I have updated/upgraded my Model 627 "Bloodwork" gun. I never really cared for the solid cylinder look, and the standard factory supplied Eagle grips were a little small for my hand,
So this is the result,

The movie gun had a fluted cylinder.

I love it!

I want to get a fluted cylinder for mine but don't know much about having it fitted.

Here is mine when I got bored one night.

Very nice upgrade. How do you like the new grips? I have as PC 629 and have been thinking about getting rid of the grips that came with, which are identical to the ones that came on yours.
Best,
John Marke

I have swapped cylinders on S&W Model 325PD vs. Model 625-6 and it worked like a charm. I wanted the titanium in my competition 625 and the stainless cylinder adds a little weight to the 325.

I polished mine. I hate dirty guns and shoot lead so it would get polished anyway with time so I did it right away. My favorite 357.

The look from the business end would make me think about changing my ways.

I plan on ordering one of those tomorrow. How do you like the ct on it? What are you using for a holster?

Nice job. We're do for another dirty Harry movie and another western come on Clint it ain't over yet??? One more s&w to make popular? 500 S&W shooting tractor trailer trucks??? Bad guys running drugs?

This is a great thread thanks to all. The "Bloodwork" revolver is a 627PC with a 2 5/8th barrel? and a unfluted cylinder (stock).
and then mods were done? Thanks

John, the grips are not bulky at all, and the little added length keeps my little finger firmly in place. I would recommend them to anyone as I am very fond of Craig's grips second only to Keith Browns.

Here are my crappy I-phone pics from the S&W display case of movie guns at the 2011 SHOT Show. Movie stills were next to the gun in the case. Don't know if this was actually used in the movie or not.

Here's the gun I used to own. Just wasn't for me.
GALCO SILHOUETTE HIGH RIDE HOLSTER (my cylinder was un-fluted, but the holster shows flutes)

I have the CT grips on a few of my N frames and wish I had them on all of them. They fit my hand and I like the laser.

The holster is a Lobo. It gets around a lot.

This is what it looked like the day I brought it home.

The silver colored speedloaders are from 5 Star. I have heard that Clint Smith also has an 8 shot speedloader, but they are very expensive. The 5Star are about $35 apiece. Not cheap either. Those are the only 8 shot speedloaders I am aware of.
