-I'm right there with ya! I picked mine up this past Wednesday around noon. Got the .40S&W myself. The trigger pull is nowhere near as bad as some are making it out to be. Now a trip to the range is in my very near future!

Bought one today as well. I live in MA. so it came with a 10 plus pound trigger. The shop had the APEX spring kits in stock, installed them when I got home and dropped the pull weight by a lot. I will take to the range at the end of the week. I wanted to buy a Glock but could not justifiy new gun prices for a 20 year old Gen2 gun.

-Mine is about 8 lbs or so. Plus the 2-14 round mags will be making the range trip a lot of fun! Definitely on the range reports. Nothing like the smell of gun powder in the morning!

Bought my sd9ve today, Academy Sports had a sale running for 299.99, 2 16 round mags. I'm excited and anxious to take it out blinking.

-There is a gun shop about 45 minutes away from me that just put the SD9/40 VE on sale for $299 also. Mine was tagged for $329 when I bought it. 16 rounds of 9mm or 14 rounds of .40 S&W. It's a win/win either way!

Had my SD9VE (thinking of calling her "Sidney") for about a month now and I love it. Was initially not bothered by the trigger pull but after several range trips I want to see what effect a spring kit will have on my accuracy, which tends to pull low and to the right by a bit.

It's a fantastic firearm for the price, mine was 349 at Cabela's with two 16 rd mags.

Erich, sooo good to be in touch again amigo!

I will post a range report as soon as I can. Like the sigma, the ergos are off the chart and the trigger is noticeably easier.

I can't wait to light it up! ;)

love my SD40VE, had it since early october and have put thousands of rounds through it. the first 300-400 you may have some fail to feed issues, polish the internals. and buff the feed ramp. it will fix it. there are a few videos out there to show you how if you do not know. she eats everything i have fed her from cheap reloads, to alum case tulammo, to my winchester ranger T-series R40TA. shes noit pick on the ammo and she still goes bang each time. couldnt be happier with the value to quality ratio in this firearm

just put some nylon rounds through her lol. she ate and fired each one.

harters TNJ ammo is what i used. ive been trying to find ammo she does not like. its been a losing battle for me she eats it all

does the apex kit make the reset comparable to glock and m&p? or just the pull weight

It's been many years since I owned my Glock...and never fired an M&P.
But owning this gun for less a month, 400 rounds with 100% stock setup, 400 rounds with Trigger AND Spring kit, it's much, MUCH less travel. And when it fires, it's done. No more extra push, it's at the hard wall.
It also travels much less to reset. And my personal preference, I like the blade style safety on a full trigger, rather than the SW hinged trigger.

much like the previous poster stated, it does cut down on travel and reset travel. my sd is stock except for the spring kit. keeps stock trigger but that may get replaced soon as well. im going to be ordering some goodies for my SD40 soon, its been pretty much stock the whole time like a EDC should be but i want a green laser and flashlight combo as well a holster able to accommodate them, also looking at some TFO night sights

Erich, I think Smith should send you a royalty check for every one they sell! ;)

It all started for me when I read your review of the sigma a long time ago! It's still the benchmark of reviews! :)

-My SD40 VE has been stripped of its packing oil and given a double treatment of FrogLube. Both mags are loaded and ready. Hopefully either tomorrow or Thursday will be spent at the range...

Matt
