Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

I like the grip adapters because with my 581 my middle finger knuckle doesn't hit the back of the trigger guard. With the adapter the flat part of my finger is behind the trigger guard. This is much more comfortable.

The Latest Victim

Well, like an idiot I didn't look for this thread or do a search for any response on Tyler T grips & now I have paid for it; literally.

I paid for 6 T grips and have received none. JR won't return phone calls & if you order from this company get ready to be ripped off.

My initial phone call was answered and viola he said he had them in stock & everything someone wanting a T grip would like to hear. So payment was sent in, cashed within days, but NO T grips yet.

Now JR won't return any calls or anything. If you buy T grips you will get ripped off. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB about this. I despise a thief of any sort.

If by some miracle I receive my order in the future, I will update it here. At present, everything is bleak to say the least. Sorry for the rant but I wanted to inform folks here or update already informed and maybe enlighten a few new people.

Tyler T = Buyer Beware !! NO = Buyer Stay Away

I don't know what is going on with this company.

I order one and received it within a couple weeks.

I guess its just a matter of when you order and how things are going at the company.

I ordered one last month and it came in about a week.

Candyman,
How long have you been waiting??
I have been waiting 6 weeks or more now. The real kicker is that when he told me he had them in stock, he (JR) stated he would mail them USPS the next mailing day which would have been a Saturday morning.

Have patience. JR has another job that pays the rent and may not be available to answer the phone 24/7. I bought several pairs a month or so ago and had them in my hands about 2-3 weeks later. I'm betting you will get your grips and be very happy with them. The quality of the product is excellent. They are worth waiting for. Patience........

OK, this thread has gone on for 14 pages! Every few weeks someone will come on with some new insight into their good or bad experience with the original company, a couple of folks will rebut or support their post, then someone will tell us that BK or somebody will give us just as good or better products, cheaper and faster. Is there a point to flogging this caballo muerte?
Maybe a new thread could be built around options available in grip adaptors and perhaps another about business practices in the specialty gunsmithing trade, but I'm not sure anybody would change their opinion or plans based on either. Maybe this could be made into a sticky or placed under the category for FAQs, but then again, to what benefit? Could we just let sleeping dogs lie for awhile?

I said if I received my T grips, I would inform folks. Well I have them now but I am less than happy with them. Not all of them but 2 or 3 do not fit snug as the older T grips I have.

So my apologies for saying you'll get ripped off. I didn't get ripped off but I wasn't quite happy with that EXTENDED waiting period only to get a less than adequate product.

I am very thankful for this thread, I just wish I would have found it sooner. Well I guess, I live and I learn even if it is unpleasant to say the least.

Well, I wish I'd have read this thread. I ordered a J-frame t-grip in January. When I received it in March, it was poorly finished and fit was so poor it would move on the frame. I returned it for a refund. After several email exchanges and promises to return my purchase price, no refund to date. I did receive a sarcastic remark with his last email to the effect I was not his only customer. It's not the money as much as it is principle.

It's a shame what has happened to this once first class company. It happens all too ofter not only in the gun business but look at your local car dealers. The founder dies, Junior takes over, and runs it into the ground.
THIS is why you see e-bay Tylers going for more than new ones.

I think this is the third, if not the fourth, operator since the original Tyler died. And the whole business was moribund for months (which is what got this thread started) before the current operator stepped up to try to get it going again.

can't get a response from Tyler on status of order

About 6 weeks ago I called and spoke with someone who said they had the trigger shoe I wanted and they would ship it after the check cleared. I mailed a check, they cashed it a month ago, and still no trigger shoe. I have called and emailed for the past week and a half, no responses, no nothing. I have googled Tyler Manufacturing and now regret ever mailing them a check after seeing all the negative posts and the BBB website claims against them. If I ever receive it I will let you know, Joe

Same story here. I've sent back two T-Grip Adapters. Neither of them fit my RB K Frame properly, and I sent the last one back six months ago. My initial order was placed in September 2013. When I returned the last adapter, I included a note telling them if they couldn't send me one that fit properly, I wanted them to refund my money. No response whatsoever to my e-mails. Big surprise. I know I'll never see my money or another grip adapter.

This thread gets resuscitated more often than Tyler. It's astounding how many people still choose to gamble their $ and place an order, hoping for the best when the evidence shows a negative outcome will be experienced. We have the alternative right here, with a Forum member who not only makes a comparable product, but offers trustworthiness and peace of mind when ordering from him. Search wrangler5 or BK grip adapters, and place an order you will receive without fear of delay or ripoff.

Anyone who patronizes Tyler has no reason to complain or be surprised by getting shafted. Caveat emptor.

I dont think anyone would order from Tyler if they have seen this post, I wish I had seen it prior to ordering. Who is this member with a comparable product?
