I was at the local Bass Pro today.

I saw something that I've heard about, but honestly thought it was a joke.
Turns out, not only are these things real, but they charge 25 bucks for them.

A mall ninja CCW badge and license holder.

I honestly can't think of a single instance in my life where I'd want one of these.

My opinion, if I ever find myself in a situation where I have to present my pistol license, the "Spencer's Gifts" badge lends zero extra credibility beyond what the license lends.

Maybe I'm way off, but it just seems goofy to me.

"I'm not a cop, but I pretend to be one in real life." :D :D :D :D

One time in a bar......

One time in a bar there was trouble brewing and a guy pulled out 'a' badge wallet and showed it to me under the bar and quietly told me he'd stop any trouble right away. I seriously doubted his story. One thing i do know though, it that there are a LOT of people that would want one of these, and I try to avoid them.

I knew an idiot who carried one and wore blue shirts with epaulets when he went out drinking. I found this out, unfortunately, some time after I sold him a gun suitable for concealed carry.

He said it would put the fear into any yahoo who messed with him, and impress chicks.

Yeah, right.

Wally World Commando. Shinola for brains.

A guy I know very slightly flashed one of those badges at breakfast, after first showing "the guys" the Glock under his jacket. I laughed at him and asked him if he was a mall ninja (he's actually a transit operator). He said something like "I can make you stop laughing."

I guess he's not going to be my buddy.

Been discussed many times, and many dislike them.

However...the theory is that holding one up after a shooting, as the police roll in, reduces the chance of being mistakenly shot by the responding officers. That is the intended use, rather than playing at cops and robbers.

Tell him you can call someone you know that has a similar one like his and also has the bracelets that match! People like him give us a bad name. He should not be carrying.

That badge looks just like my city's police shield. Same exact style. For this reason I think police departments should try their best to get unique features on a real police shield. Like how the LAPD has their city hall on it.

It also looks just like the "Assistant District Attorney" Badges all the ada's carry to get out of speeding tickets.
