Opinions on triggers

Timney 3# in most of my racing AR's - including some non-racers (7.62x51, 7.62x39 & 9mm).
JP Yellow springs in my knock arounds.
TacCon in one of my speed-shooters.
Timney 4# in my S&W AR15-22 - speaking of which, I see guys come to the line w/ all these tricked out $1500+ .22's & constantly watch them "puke"! My stock ($400) S&W - but for the Timney - runs ...& runs ...& runs. Period. Well done S&W!!!

ps just read Timney (thanks "Soggy2007") will give you a metal plate to put under the housing in composite lowers! Wish they did that a few years ago . . . took me forever to fashion one of my own!

I just installed the new Hyperfire edt in a PSA 10 in 308 and a DPMS ar-15, I used the 4.5 lb springs. Very nice trigger pull, just the least mount of creep and very crisp one stage trigger. Best of all-only $90.

Good God man, does the American public really have this much money to spend on their hobbies? you must earn a ton of money.

We all tend to spend money where it makes us the happiest. I see expensive firearms at the range on a regular basis. There's one shooter, that on any given day, will have four or five rifles easily worth $2-$3 thousand each.

And then there's the ammo that goes down range ... On a busy, warm day it's not uncommon to see 15+ thousand rounds fired over the course of eight hours. Even if it were only 100 rounds/port/hour that would be 100x16x8=12,800 rounds.

Not everyone in America is living on welfare and food stamps ...

God forbid I should ever be on welfare but, I work at 67 and still can't afford my pleasures like this. I do intend to leave something for my kids and grandkids, also.

Since we are talking about triggers.....

Has anyone tried the new MSR trigger from Ruger or CMC 2 stage triggers?

My 15-22PC seems to be eating firing pins, (2 in less then 6000 rounds) and I'm thinking it might be the trigger. Plus I'm not really happy with it and I want an excuse to try something different. ;)

I currently have a single stage CMC in another 15-22 and love it, but wanted to replace the PC version with a 2 stage something.

I'm 72, retired on a fixed income, live rather comfortable and still shoot about a 1,000 rounds a month during warm weather - some factory, some handloads, the majority .22 LR.

People tend to afford what they want to afford. Generally those who say they can't, don't want to very much.

Just to correct a little nomenclature, there no such animal. It's an M&P 15-22. There's no AR designation. Details are often important. :D

Absolutely correct.
Thank you.
I guess I take the piece for granted I've had it for so long.
Got it when it first came out & never looked back!

Just took delivery of a ELF match trigger. Will do some further in depth testing but the needle bearings do make a difference in the feel. The components are modular meaning the trigger and hammer can be swapped out if you want to change from say a curved to straight trigger or skeleton hammer to a solid one. They also have several weight hammer springs.

Pull weight is adjustable from 2.75 to 4 lbs with a single allen screw. It is a single pull design where my current favorite AR gold is a 2 stage so I will have to get used to that again.

Or, perhaps think more of their children they desire to have a decent education? But, enough said this has gone way off topic.

Steve.
I think everyone here would agree you have your priorities straight. You gotta do what you have to do when it comes to family.

I don't have children but if I did I wouldn't have the free income to buy triggers to try either. Hope you get to retire soon.

Nice

They look nice, pity about the price! :(

I look forward to hearing your feedback on them. Cheers

The way the world is shaping up, you'd probably be better off educating your children behind a trigger. However, they are all different discussions for different forums.
I am finding it difficult enough to settle on a trigger or even if i want one, without the thread drift...if you are going to hijack a thread at least make it about....i dont know...erm...Boo.....erm food. ;)
