Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

Ok, that's a standard T-grip. I believe they powdercoat them nowadays. It's aluminum under the paint.

I wish they had their stuff together... My T-Grip makes my model 60 no dash great!

Nice looking Model 60 Edmo. Square butt 60's are rare in my part of the country.

Thanks...

I bought this one for my Frau back in the 80s.

I call it mine, but she still reminds me it is hers even though she carries her GLOCK 26 all the time.

On edit, you can see the new hammer stud (below the cylinder release) which S&W's repair shop pressed into the frame as a replacement to the original which broke. They did a great job on the repair and it feels like they slicked up the trigger before they shipped it back.

I have no experience with Tyler, but this thread is just too good to let die. So.....................................Bump!

I ordered one last month and it took just about 2 weeks to deliver! He currently has several model in stock according to the site and that's what I ordered. I figured at the time that I can wait a few months if needed but he did deliver.

Mailed my check on 1-12-15. Check cashed on 1-20-15. Received these size 4 silver beauties on 1-26-15. I have no complains. I guess my order timing was good.

I've bought a T-Grip and 2 trigger shoes from Tyler Manufacturing with no delays or problems. I recently (December 2014) bought a trigger shoe which had the set screws too close to the front edge of my curved trigger and would not hold. I returned it to Tyler with a check for shipping and had a new tigger shoe back with correctly placed set screws plus extra screws and a wrench for them at no extra charge. I had one phone conversation with whomever answered the phone and who was curtious and helpful. I'm glad there is a source for these items.

They have had my money for over a month now. They never answer the phone or emails.I've had enough and am going to contact the Oklahoma attorney general myself or travel down there or both to get my money refunded in person. Buyer beware they'll take your money but apparently don't care about shipping your items.

Glock H. I hate to hear that. I was on their website yesterday and saw where someone from the company updated info as of Jan 2015. So I thought maybe they were back on track as I need a couple of J framed T's. I think I'll wait to see how you fare.

THIS IS REALLY A SHAME ! ! ! FOR WHATEVER COMBINATION OF REASONS, THIS LITTLE COMPANY APPEARS TO BE HEADED INTO EXTINCTION. THE IRONIC PART IS THAT THERE STILL IS A STRONG DEMAND FOR THEIR PRODUCT, WHICH IS DRIVING PRICES TO UNBELIEVABLE LEVELS. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF SOME SMALL BUSINESS WIZARD COULD COME ALONG AND RECONCILE THESE FORCES. I KNOW ONE THING FOR CERTAIN. IF AND WHEN I EVER SELL MY 2 1/2" NO-DASH 686, CONVERTED TO A 7 SHOOTER BY S&W, WEARING PC MAGNAS AND A TYLER-T ADAPTER, IT AIN'T GONNA BE CHEAP……...…...

I have to say that I find the continued interest in the grip adapter curious.

It just seems to me that a boot grip type of stock (by whatever name, I refer to the type that fills in the space behind the trigger guard, but which does not extend below the grip frame at the bottom) will do the same job without being wobbly, etc.

I understand why the grip adapter came about, but it seems to me that, apart from nostalgia, there are other products that do the job better than a grip adapter, except in one respect. And that is looks.

It is simply impossible to make a better looking service type revolver, whether the 2 inch, 3 inch, 3 1/2 inch, or 4 inch variety, than a gorgeous revolver that takes you back to a time that most of us oldies wish we could go back to.

Thus, for photography, nostalgia, or just because you want it the way it was "back in the day," that is OK with me.

All of that said, I agree there is a seemingly strong demand for the grip adapter. I have to say that I wish the Tyler company well, as I do BK grips. We have lost too many good companies due to changing needs and wants.

Perhaps we should all just order a set so they can get an influx of cash to help them out a little. Otherwise, we all run a risk of losing another old line company.

Good luck to Tyler and BK.

My preference in grip adapters was always Pachmayr and S&W.

Why bother ordering an adapter? Just send the check and you'll get the same result.:D

I'm another who likes the grip adapter, especially on the J frame.

I was looking on ebay for N frame stocks & did see several grip adapters listed. Price wasn't what it used to be, but they are available. I'm not a big fan of ebay, but with ebay you do have recourse if the deal is sour.

If you will look at this thread closely, you will find that if you are in a hurry to get your adaptor from Tyler, don't order one. Pay the jacked up prices on ebay. If you can be patient, really patient.......order one from them and forget about it. It will show up eventually. It may take 2-3 months. Also, don't expect to contact the company. They will rarely answer the phone or emails. They don't have the best business model at all, but shooters do like their product.

I can't say never, but I don't think that there have been many who never received their adaptors. It is apparently a very small operation and I think I remember seeing that they were hit by a tornado a while back. Just remember, if you want a Tyler t-grip at their retail price, patience is a virtue. JMHO.
