Today I had the great pleasure of seeing my beloved daughter (born in Mexico) pinned as an Austin Texas Firefighter. Cadet Class 117 Class motto: "Deeds Not Words"

Commencement title:"Ferrum Ferro Acuitur"

Congrats! I did volunteer fireman from 98 to 00 before moving. It was fun and challenging but very bad on pay... . Anyway, congrats it's a fun carrier

She said the toughest part of the cadet work was the EMT. But she was a very good student at UT, so academics was not too hard a task, I think. She's an iron man competitor and a marathoner too, so shes tough, did kick boxing. (actually thought she would go into Federal Security/ foreign service) but I'm sure happy with her choice- all her own.
( there were 4000+ applicants for this round of cadets. Two classes of 42)
