Does your job let you carry?

Just wondered who has a job, Other then a police officer,security guard job that allows you to carry while at work?
I really do not know what a concealed carry gun would hurt, cause most will never even know you are carrying. but this is just something i wondered about, as years go by the world is getting crazier and i really wish it be nice if all jobs would allow there workers to carry.

Am retired now but where I worked at very large construction equipment manufacturer (Think Yellow) if you had even just one bullet on the premise you would be fired if seen ..

I'm semi-retired and still do rental property management. Mostly for my own properties and for friends/family.

So being self employed, I let myself carry.

In fact, meeting someone I don't know in the dark at night to show a property is one of the situations where I really appreciate my J frame in my pocket.

Never needed it yet, thank goodness.

I work in an environment where there weapons are not permitted on site, but at the same time it is not a law. So a weapon being concealed is just that, concealed.
Due to my working situations I cannot always carry. But for what I consider a reasonable distance, my carry weapon is in my backpack where only I have access to it and only a few close associates and trusted know I carry. So in short it is in a backpack!

After retiring from law enforcement I went to work for the Federal government and carrying a gun was a firing offense. Good job, good pay & benefits so I followed the rules and carried on the weekends. The armed security guys who protected our building were all retired cops and told me they'd look the other way if I wanted to carry (I'm the kind of guy that AWALYS gets caught), but it was just not worth it.

I really can't say for sure. I don't recall anything in the handbook, so I'll assume "yes".

If anyone ever finds out, that means it came out for a reason, and my employment will be a secondary consideration to whatever caused it's unholstering.

I am a municipal employee. I am not allowed to carry at work, and I am not allowed to carry in a city vehicle. And I take bank bags to the bank every day. If I were to drive my vehicle to work, I could have a gun in it, as long as I lock the doors.

Construction worker, as long as it was not a government property all should be OK. No one ever saw or guessed I was armed, but I did not carry at all sites, just ones in bad areas.

When I retired and drove truck for a couple years,I never asked,they never said. They had no handbook I asked them about that!

I worked for 1 year at a trucking company after I retired from Law Enforcement, they wanted me to carry so I did.

Most company handbooks have a weapons policy so if your company has a Handbook I'd read it carefully.

I wrote my company's Handbook. Weapons are prohibited generally but concealed handguns are permitted for CHL holders with senior management permission.

I thought that was pretty clever since I knew they wanted to prohibit weapons and I knew they'd say yes to me. Ipso facto, yes, I carry at work, as does our President (big shock, right?) and our Comptroller (sometimes he does, sometimes he does not).

We have some other CHL holders and when they ask I just direct them to the policy in the Handbook. None have asked for permission that I am aware of.

Do any of them carry? Probably not, but I think that we would NOT fire them if they did as long as the discovery of same was made through anything but a violent confrontation.

My CEO, and friend, is a big gun fan. We bring our latest additions to work and show and tell. So yes, we can carry anything we want from a concealed pocket carry to an AR strapped on our back. Most of my staff are Russians and have never shot guns before. One Friday after work, we all loaded up and headed for the range to let them shoot. It was a lot of fun to show them safety and operation.

Self employed, conceal carry everywhere including my daughter's wedding. Although I will go from two guns to one when I know hugs will happen. Hugs won't happen working, mostly....

I retired as a LEO in 2001. While waiting to go to Kosovo as an international police officer, I worked as a house parent in a children's home. I read the handbook very carefully and concluded that CCW wasn't prohibited.

I pocket carried a NAA .22 Magnum while on the property and had a 3" M625 .45 ACP locked in my room. I worked 4 days on and 4 days off, sleeping in my own room. I didn't worry much about the kids, but some of the parents, who could visit on weekends, were druggies. Had one sorry momma who actually brought her 14 year old son some weed to smoke!

oh wow thanks for the replies and it kinda surprising to see many of you do carry but sounds like some you have jobs where doesn't matter either way.. cant carry in a City Automobile? its not a Federal auto right? so not sure.

as a real estate person or someone who rents propertys i do not blame you for carrying, if i met anyone to sell something to buy something in public i am always armed.

I work in Retail, many of my customer are armed, and I am sure many many more are concealed so no clue they are armed, I never asked but I'm sure my company would be against its employees carrying. even tho in winter when I wear my sweatshirt no one would ever know.

my gf worked at Subway and a few had gotten robbed the owner said they could carry if they wanted but the gf didn't have a gun at the time she worked there, leaving by themselves late at night i think anyone in that situation should carry, same thing with gas stations and such i think they should be armed.

I've been an agent for years. There is never a reason to show property after dark. It's asking for trouble armed or not. Same goes for property checks.

My company does not allow weapons on locations,in company vehicles, or on property. Will result in termination. All vehicles, property or persons can be searched at any time. I work in the oil field. And a guy that works in same company was held at gun point and robbed beaten not long ago. Miles from nowhere.
