Annoyed at thread drift

Good morning all. It's 77 degrees here in Houston and the Feels Like is 78. When it's 94 and Feels Like 112, did you ever wonder what it would Feels Like if it actually got to 112? I'm heading out for my morning walk to hold off the hordes and burn a few calories. Each of you have a great day!
 
Morning all. It's been hot & humid here. There's supposed to be a little rain coming with a little cold front to get it back to the 70s for a few days. I'm waiting for my boat. It's going to take a few days to get the new motor rigged. I gotta go get the check from the credit union. I took a loan so I didn't have to take money from my IRA for the motor. I don't like giving the IRS 20% when I take it out.

I lost my Dad when I was a teenager, over 50 years ago and I never knew
either of my Grandfathers as they passed years before I was born.
Had of couple of father-in-laws, either of whom impressed me much.
Guess I missed out a lot in the "Dad" department.

And for the most part I was Mom & Dad to my kids.

Did a "Dad" thing for the daughter of a single Mom today. Took her
to the range to shoot for the first time. I'm helping sponsor a series
of 4 classes for 1st time shooters. The group ranges in age from 5-15
and most are girls!

You deserve a big like for taking kids shooting,if more of us would do that I think that there would be a lot less victims and less accidental shootings. Kids learn a lot of responsibility while learning to shoot. The kids will always remember you.:cool:
 
Good morning drifters it's 91 degrees in the desert this morning and it looks like that will be our low for the night. Supposed to be around 118 today according to the talking heads on the TV.

If today is the longest day of the year then the days will start to get shorter and that means winter is on the way. Okay, I know it will be a while.
 
Good morning everyone,,,,Really starting out great here at the campsite. They want 95 degrees here though today! I was going to wash down the Motorhome and should be doing it now but I'm enjoying the peace and quiet! ;)

May have to take a spin on the golf cart and check things out, and see who's here? :)

It's going to be another LOOONG Hot Day. With the humidity higher than the proof of Jack Dainels Black Label!

I hope everyone had a Great Weekend and got to see or hear from all the kids and grandkids.

Now, we have to settle down and get ready for a BIG July 4th in a few weeks. Buy plenty of Walmart red, white and blue paper plates and cups and a few Fireworks! They're against the law in our county. But just outside and right over the county line in any direction, you can buy any Fireworks you want! I'd bet they're all ready got the massive Fireworks Tents set up. But being as dry as it's been here, might NOT be such a good idea. But it won't stop the fools.

So enjoy your day! Start saving your change for Fireworks and paper plates. It'll be here before we know it! And our grocery stores will be able to sell wine on July 1st. Walmart and Publix has the isles all ready stocked. We don't drink, but I bet there are some real Happy Mom's that can do their one stop shopping. Baby Diapers and a box of wine. Better than dragging the baby in a liquor store?? I saw Walmart had a end cap set up, with Duck Commander Wine, ole Willy ain't no dummy! I don't care what Uncle Si says!

Cartridge names are more confusing than the English language. If the .45-70 was a 45 caliber round with 70 grains of black powder then why is it the .250/3000 Savage doesn't hold 3000 grains of powder. How do the .220 Swift, .221 Remington Fireball, .222 Remington. .223 Remington, and .224 Weatherby Magnum all use .224 bullets? How can you fire .308 Winchester rounds in a rifle marked 7.62x51 Caliber? Why is my son's 410 shotgun a "410 Bore" but mine is a "20 gauge"? and why can I fire 410 bore shells and .45 Long Colt cartridges from my S&W Governor? Speaking of shells- why are the empty shells for shotguns called hulls, but the empty shells for rifles are casing or brass?
If you've read this post this far, I can be I'd read your displeasure by the red on your face. Going to take my lead before I'm led away by a firearm full of lead. Back to your regularly scheduled drift...
