Great Evening Music!

Oh the memories!

I can still smell the skunk and new carpet smells. And Momma complaining about all those little tiny burn holes, in all my shirts! Those were the good ole dayz! And the crazy names, purple urple, red headed stranger, blue eyed lady, Orange haze.

Nashville was the place to be in the 70's, you'd pass one around and look around and David Allen Coe would be waiting on his turn.

Oh The Memories!

Thank goodness, medical Mary Jane isn't legal here, I'd sure be broke!

I don't know if it's me or just the heat...but I think I just saw a penguin riding an emu through a carwash.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

Close - that was an ostrich, not an emu.

I know because I was right behind the penguin.[emoji12]

Safely docked at Cedarbrook campground IL. It's hot out and in, A/C going full tilt.
We topped off the LP gas at Flying J.
There's a question, I have found the Flying Js nicer than the Pilots, but both give me an RV plus discount of between $0.03 and $0.06 per gallon depending on the state.
Heading out early tomorrow, taking chances with wind and weather, the really bad weather was North of us, we just had clouds and drizzle.

Who needs to do various things...and hydrate, hydrate, Hydrate!

It just isn't fair!
There's an ice cream shop that opened recently in town.
I had just had my 3rd weigh in under 185 pounds and I wanted a chocolate soft serve ice cream cone.
We go on in and they're out of chocolate.
Typical.
I've still got a taste for a chocolate ice cream cone.

Hey, I got it, there's a Dairy Queen between here and the Y.
If they're out of chocolate I'm gonna be miffed.

The USS Yolo is still off the invasion beaches of Okinawa on this date 1945. Comments of Homer Bast, CO.

June 22, 1945

Secured from GQ at 0345 after four hours in which the closest bogey flew within 15 miles. They have concentrated on station 15 this day. The LSM 213 and the LST 534 were hit on the east side of the island. Owing to the great work of CAP, 29 planes out of 40 were splashed. As was found out later, this was Kikusui X, the last of the floating chrysanthemums.

All ships answered the call to GQ this morning when a number of raids were reported. LCMs from the reefer came alongside with 100 tons of frozen meat from New Zeeland. It was difficult for us to handle because of its bulk. Yolo was reprovisioned for the 13th time. Some 93 tons of fresh and dry provisions were received on board from the S.S. Bruno. At the same time an oiler came alongside and 50,000 gallons of fuel was pumped aboard. I have mentioned the mail situation - in the morning about 0830 an LCI picks up the outgoing mail and transports it to the Seabees’ base at Retto and returns with the mail just arrived from the States. Apparently the seaplanes do most of the hauling to Saipan and Guam.

Some good posts this afternoon, got some laughs from Lok and Rusty's talk radio posts! My son who is at a friends hunting ranch just sent me a text that the Pigman is there ,I assume to film a show. Should be interesting when my son reports in. More silliness in DC today, the NRA needs our support! Drift on!!!
