Hearing aides got wet? You can save them.

Very shortly the information I have gained here will be priceless. Earlier in the year I had my hearing tested. Same song just a slightly different verse as most of you here, no surprises. Results were mixed and the Dr's advice was it's not imperative but when you get tired of saying "Huh" come back and see me. Have recently began talking to friends and relatives who wear them getting advice on makes, models, etc. Regards, hardcase60

Huh? What did you say? :)

Hearing aides... use them or what???

Thanks for the likes and reports that my info helped... that's why I posted. Hopefully I will never do it again but chances are good that I might.

Take it from me, wear your ear protection. The incident that cost me most of my hearing was a single hot round from a 357 snubbie fired from about 6" behind my left ear. The perpetrator {a former friend}, thought it would be funny to see me flinch... and I did not disappoint. When the ringing never went away the joke was on me, for life.

I ride Harley Dyna Super Glide with a Vance and Hines 2 into 1 Propipe and yes, it is loud or as my Harley brethren say "It's the sound of freedom". I always take my hearing aides out and zip them into the pocket of my armored mesh jacket and replace them with a pair of ear plugs and that helps a lot. Really don't need to do anything further to diminish my hearing and the ear plugs are easy to ride with.

The ultimate irony here is discovering that for years my {recently passed mother}, lied to me....

She always told me I would go blind.

{I discovered long ago that if you cannot laugh at yourself you really should not be allowed to laugh at others.... and I just flat out refuse to give that up.}
