Stupid Summer Heat, But It's Almost Fall???

usually, we get a 4 or 5 day strech over 100, once or twice each summer.
this year it was everyday in june n july.
all records broken.
couple days it hit 114.
i don't care about ''dry'' heat. 114 means death if you're not careful.
i'm buying a place in the mountains. i can't do this again.

Forgive me, but I love the heat.:D If you live in southwest Florida, it's always been hot (I was born and raised there). Yes, there are varying degrees of heat in the area, but this year's heat is no worse than it has been in the decades past. The most abundant and diverse life is found in the hottest and most humid places on earth--take for example the Amazon and Congo. The sky is not falling... it's just weather.:D Smile and deal with it. Have a great night/morning.:)

I'll take Nashville's weather, the high in Memphis today was 95. It may seem odd this heat in the middle of September but I just checked the record for this day in Memphis and it was 102 in 1980.

1980 was by far the hottest Summer I can remember

Exactly, it's just weather and it's been happening for millennia.:)

Hey, us in Texas consider your weather comfortable. You haven't felt anything until you experience a Texas summer. Try running your AC 24 hours a day for months at a time beginning in May and continuing until October. I empathize with you but I would take your weather now over ours.

Shoot, that ain't nothing! There were years in Alabama when I ran the A/C from February until November.

I'll take our weather here in Arizona any day to you guys in high humidity areas. It was 97 today and didn't even break a sweat, it's actually really nice to be out and about. More and more people our figuring this out and moving in by droves, and it doesn't hurt that we have the best gun laws. It really is a dry heat and we have 9 months of great weather.......Just finished BBQ carne asada and eating on the patio watching a beautiful sunset.....

A police officer from AZ came to our PD in Alabama to pick up a prisoner one summer. He walked in the back door just wringing wet, complaining about the heat and humidity. I believe it was 95 that day-temp and humidity.

I spent 3 years in Afghanistan. The hottest temp I saw was 126, in the shade. Yes, it was a dry heat, but there comes a point when hot is just plain HOT.

I forgot to mention earlier-that Fall officially begins a 9:23 AM this Thursday. However, ill bet someone will still leave the heater going full blast.

It really has not been a bad summer here just outside of Houston this year. A couple of days over 100 but none of the "let's see how many days in a row we can hit 100+" weeks like we normally have. Humidity is just a fact of life here, and it sure makes for a wonderful feeling when we get the first good front of the fall and have a few days of lower humidity.

Amen brother.

I wasn't trying to start a competition! I was just telling about how we've almost set a record of days 90 and above. I understand, if it's this hot here, Texas and Louisiana must feel like HELL!! And I heard even New York had a HOT summer?

We should be in the high 70's to low 80's this time a year with evening lows in the high 50's low 60's. With low humidity. Usally our weather starts cooling off about the 2nd week in August or the very first of September. Not this year.

Our students here, start school now in the first week of August. I felt so sorry for them in 90+ degrees and humidity through the the roof. Allot of the schools have crappy air conditioning. I don't feel as bad for them in the winter, even with crappy heaters. They can layer up.

And I hate to go shopping in this heat. All the grocery stores and auto parts businesses are sweltering. They just never seem to cool off.

And it looks like it will be at least another week, before we get even to the high 80's. That will almost be October?

Like I said, it doesn't seem like we have 4 full seasons any more? Straight from summer to winter and winter straight to summer. I used to LOVE spring and fall, here in Middle Tennessee.

My son and grandson LOVE to fish. And have only been a a couple times this summer. When the lakes and rivers are so low, that you can almost walk across them. And when it's 86 degrees at dusk and humidity is 80%. I don't blame them on passing on the fishing trips! They even said our pool feels like a hot tub?

It's just been a strange and Very Hot summer here in Middle Tennessee! And been hard on me being handicapped. That's all I was trying to convey!

LOL. It's all good, my friend. I hope the weather turns in your favor soon.

10PM local and 85 with 67% humidity.
Hasn't been any hotter than years past, even with a land breeze we'll only hit 100 a few days a year because of the sea nearby. That said it's been hotter longer than I can remember. Used to be able to count on Dec., Jan. and Feb. not breaking 90 but as of the last 3-4 years only January hasn't seen a day in the 90's... but it's been close.

I give three shakes of the tail to what the UN thinks... except for a couple of blips Ma Earth been heading for the hot flash for the last 11,000 years.

The last three morning's here when I went out were in the upper 40's, good fishing weather.

Well we actually got some rain the other night. The mountain behind the house had snow down to 6000 ft... Was 42 degrees this morning at about 0430, But it got to 82 today..61 right now at 2230. Going to be 70s this week till Thursday then the high will get to 50 or so. This summer we got to 100 about 4 times..but 66-70 at night by mornin.. We don't have or need A-C cept in the vehicles. We live right at 4200 ft and the sun can be brutal.....300 or more sunny days. Luckily we have irrigation because we get less moisture(rain/snow) than the Mojave desert. BTW the days it got to 100 or more this year the avg humidity was under 10%...more like 3-4%. Winter will be upon us soon enough

skeet, that's why i'm looking for a place i n wyoming.
2 months over 100 is too much for me.
i'm now a believer in climate change,

Well, I've always believed in global warming... I just disagree that humans(us'ns) are the cause of it. Not only is good ol Mother Earth getting warmer so is Mars. Must be all those cars that the Japanese exported up there. The sun is also been in a somewhat warmer period. All those scientists are blaming a natural warming period on us. They've only had a real idea about weather for less than 200 years. They can look at the rocks and the ancient ice all they want but there is no real science on weather. I do remember the same people claiming an impending mini ice age in the 1970s. One extra fair size volcano puts out more harmful emissions than all the people on earth.
C'mon out suzieqz. The weather is.... well...weather and it changes in minutes. I am originally from the Eastern Shore of Md... family since 1660s..One of the reasons we came here was the lack of the 95-95 days of that area..95 degrees 95% humidity. Oh... and no state income tax... and the bonus of 75 miles to Billings Mt...and no sales tax if we choose to shop there.

Global warming, yeah that's why the Farmers Almanac is predicting an extreme harsh winter season for the most of the country. Get your long johns ready. I can hear it now..........I am so fed up with the snow and cold that I wish summer would get here quick.

If it is cold this year the weather prognosticators will even blame that on global warming like they did with all the snow back east. Seems like people in the gummit NEED something to keep blaming on us the great unwashed so they can help people that didn't used to need help. Did I say that right?
