Hello all,

I’m looking to build a mini-rifle competition gun from a standard M&P 15-22. I’m basically looking for help to source the parts I’m after in the UK (or from UK postage friendly countries), naturally for the best price! :p

I’m getting the rifle from Master Class Custom Guns (Andy Haines) who is also going to cut the barrel down to 12” (well, 12” and little bit to keep it legal) £595 +£110 for the barrel chop, thread, re-crown and reproof.

1/ The main thing I’m struggling to find is a CMC 3.5lb trigger, not particularly bothered about flat or curved trigger blade, although the flat one looks ‘cooler’ but I’ve read that it may interfere with a BAD lever, does anyone know if this is correct?). I’ve seen the CMC triggers for sale by LanTac but the 3.5lb ones are currently out of stock and they’re waiting for the export license to be renewed before they can get any more in so that could be anything from 6 weeks to 6 months! Anywhere else do them?

2/ Next thing is an ambidextrous charging handle. I’ve had one the same style as the Plinkster Tactical on another AR-15 style rifle and really didn’t like it. I’ve been looking at the Next Level Armament Scythe which Riflemags.co.uk stock (£60), any other options/better price on the Scythe?

3/ I do want to fit a BAD type lever to my gun but have been reading that the Magpul one needs some work doing to it to get it to work properly/not interfere with the BHO. Is this a big job? Or is there somewhere in the UK you can get the 15-22 dedicated ones from (NDZ Performance etc)?

4/ I’ll be looking to add a sound moderator (suppressor/silencer) to the gun in the near future and I really like Wildcat sound mods so would be looking at their Whisper model. Its an over-barrel/Reflex type and has a diameter of <38mm – can anyone tell me the internal diameter of the standard picatinny handguard? Also, does the ‘plug’ that fits in the end of the handguard/around the barrel stabilise the handguard in any way or is it just for looks/stopping crud getting down in there?

I think that’s all for now (you’ll be glad to hear!) Any info on the above would be gratefully received. I have looked through the forum and while some of the points have been covered, most threads are from a good 3-4 years ago so who/where/what price has likely changed significantly.

Many thanks!

Welcome to the forum....wow you've opted for a dangerous gun HAHAHA. Joke.

Seriously though....although Brownells UK are expensive they can get you stuff you normally would not be able to get past ITAR. Compare their prices and hefty delivery fee to what i am about to post.
However if you dig deep enough you'll find what you are after.

1) CMC Tactical flat blade small pin trigger drop in

2) I think Jody is okay with overseas postage but you will have to check for sure... Tacticool22 - Gun Parts, Accessories and Shooting Gear given the awful $-£ exchange rate you're probably better off getting it this side of the pond....of course you could always try the MST, one left in stock...MST Ambidextrous Charging Handle 15-22 – Tactical Quarter Master.

3)I cannot see why the CMC would interfere with the function of the BAD lever. Graham at ACP shooting will custom bend a Magpul BAD lever for you, he did it for me and it works perfectly. Alternatives are the SBR by NDZ...difficult to get over here unless you get lucky and someone on here has a spare.
I have a Hiperfire 24C in mine and it does not interfere with my Bad lever at all. However seeing as i don't have the CMC don't take my word for it working.

4) Cannot answer the silencer question...i like mine loud :) the plug does not touch the barrel and serves no other function and unless you are crawling through the jungles of South East Asia then i doubt it has any use...most i know have popped theirs out.

Currently waiting for mine to come back from the chop shop. My lower is lonely...hurry back soon. :)

Thanks for the reply and info/leads!

I think the info i read about the straight trigger interfering was just with it being further forward/closer to the lever that you might activate one or the other when you don't want to.

The Hiperfire 24C has a straight blade trigger and even with the 'shoe' on there is plenty of clearance between it and the BAD lever. It is an issue i have never had to contend with. That being said i have guitar picking fingers, not sausage fingers HAHAHA ;)

There is no clearance problem using the CMC trigger with

an SBR.... the CMC trigger you will need anti walk pins.

i need another CMC for my second 12" 15-22 maybe the guy

i got my first one from could source a couple for me at a

better price;).......as for the charging handle from rifle mags,

maybe they are old stock, as i think they are up to the MK3

version now:rolleyes:

As GM mentioned there is always the MST charging handle i

have 2 of them, and find them excellent:cool:

All together now....in our best Scouse accents.....
"I get by with a little help from my friends"
Just waiting for my barrel to be returned....luckily our club has been closed for its annual clean, otherwise i'd be climbing the walls by now, eager to shoot.
You Still waiting for yours? Any word yet?

Nice shooters!

Any idea where i can get the anti-walk pins from? I know Lantac can supply them with the CMC triggers but i don't know if they'd sell them separately (hopefully found a the trigger i want at Rimfire Magic but they don't have the 15-22 pins). I've emailed Pete at Blackrifle to see if he has any too.

Don't know if you've 'liked' the Blackrifle Facebook page but they've got an offer on magazines until 29th - 10% off if you buy 5 or more so the mags are coming in at only £22.50 which is the best price i've seen so far.
