There is a fast food place I hate, except for;

Jimmy Johns, #9 with BBQ Jimmy Chips and Lemonade. Enough Mystery meat while in the military. Cat tastes pretty good with some soy sauce, garlic, onions, green peppers, over white rice.

I think our age is showing here. those McD's with lines out to the road are probably filled with kids and parents trying to keep them happy. I do not visit often, but when watching grand kids I tend to go where they ask.

Had a burger at 5 Guys; wasn't impressed. There's a place in town called Rasco's Burger Inn, but popularly known as 'The Dirty Old Man's'. I think he's retired but his sons run it. The guy making burgers has sores all along the under side of his arms from spattering fat, I guess. They make a superb burger, and their caldillo is to die for. Once I think I got some deer venison caldillo, but they took it away from me before I finished it and wouldn't say why.

We have a Steak n Shake in Texarkana. The burger is pretty good, but to me, the fries just taste like old frozen spuds. I got their salt and pepper fries once, and the container had a pile of salt left in it. They were terrible. Chili dogs, and shakes are good. The worst of it is that they have had several management problems in the less than 2 years they've been here.

Back in the "old days" I frequented Dirtys in Austin. Home of Martins Cum back Burger. Dans also, and Huts. Austin had good hamburgers.
I try to avoid Austin nowadays since it's occupied territory, and rather hostile.( I lose my appetite every time I have to go there.)

Since McDonald's started serving breakfast all day, I've been getting the sausage egg mcmuffins. 2 and a cup of water makes a good lunch. The biscuit sandwiches are ok but a little greasy. I haven't had a burger there in months.

Back in the Devonian Period (1960's) I used to like the Filet of Fish sandwich, which at the time was pretty darn cheap...at today's prices, they must be serving lobster....

As a matter of fact, McDonalds does serve a McLobster. It's a local item sold at McD's in Atlantic Canada.

I saw them being advertised when I was riding through Nova Scotia. With whole lobster so cheap, I never did try one.

I can't believe McDonalds has guts enough to sell the McRib in Memphis.

Oh, there's probably plenty of guts laying around in any McDeath's you visit. Customers have probably eaten a bunch of 'em.

My spouse will order 20 McNuggets and down they go...and she doesn't even like white meat chicken...go figure.

Maybe she likes them because they don't actually contain white chicken meat!

I dislike McD, and I don't eat there. But I love their hash browns! It's a big Tater Tot!

I do like Carl's Jr. burgers and not just for the commercials. Of course I do enjoy the commercials. Speaking of their commercials, they get a nod for the very best response to those that complain about them quote

“We believe in putting hot models in our commercials, because ugly ones don’t sell burgers.”

Gotta give them credit for honesty.

I do like the McRib. Another thing that McDonalds does well is their Coca Cola. They have the best Coca Cola in their fountains. The quality control franchise to franchise must be amazing. It is always spot on.

You wouldn't want one, they are about 8 bucks and two bites and their gone, around here we get a lobster roll that's fresh off the boat for about 15 bucks and it's ten times the size.

Since I'm kinda stuck here, the update is: Dirty's is still going in the same location. Dan and Fran got divorced, she got half the stores and guess what? Named them Fran's. Oldest one on south Congress fell to gentrification (for some of y'all that's urban renewal). Hut's is also still in the same spot but for yours truly it is geographically undesirable. Austin politics has always been a bit too liberal for my taste but since the election it has become nauseating. Got us a brand new sheriff-elect who has already stated she won't cooperate with ICE. The new DA appears that she will be worthless. But it could be worse! Houston just hired our police chief. Second time they have done that. Apparently they are slow learners!! hardcase60
