.... in WWII Russian history need to see this movie.
I was running through some stuff and found out that Russian and Ukraine made a movie in 2015 called the ''Battle for Sevastopol" that mainly follows Lyudmila Pavlichenko or "Lady Death", the sniper who killed over 300 of the enemy. It's more personal than 'Enemy at the Gates' and reminded me of a a doc I saw on diaries from WWI about Marina Yurlova, a 14 year old Cossack girl who followed her father into battle and has quite a story to tell.
found it on Amazon and plunked down 3 bucks and said, "Oh, I'll start watching it and finish it later. I was still watching early this morning. Fantastic. They sent her over here for a nudge to get us into the war. She was treated rather poorly, but she was a friend of Eleanor Roosevelt, which helped a lot. Near the end she told everybody. "I've been out there since June of 1941 killing 300 of the enemy and it's time you stopped hiding behind my coat tails." The poor thing had lost three people she hoped to marry (of course a lot of other people did, too) but she was badly wounded several times and had a concussion but kept going out into the field to kill more. She also had a bad case of PTSD.
