Here's a 99-year old Schrade "safety button" knife that was a gift from a good friend. It belonged to his wife's grandfather who purchased it in San Francisco around 1920. My friend gave it to me along with the following statement: "This is a working man's knife and it was meant to be used. I expect you to use it!"

As a result, this knife still sees almost daily use here around the ol' homestead. And almost every night, you'll find me sitting in my rocking chair by the fire, touching up the blade on a hard Arkansas stone while I'm listening to the nightly news.

Another favorite of of mine is this Reese Weiland NightHawk

The large Garnet is the blade release

The bark ivory scales are much more impressive in person than in photographs

And naturally the file work on the spine is all done by hand

The blade is 4 1/2" long and the knife has an overall open length of 10 1/4"

I have a much carried Benchmade Auto Presidio that is my EDC. On Sundays and for when I am at the office or a dress function, i.e., wedding or funeral, etc., I have a little Benchmade Auto Benchmite. That thing is just about a wonderment! If ... If ... If Benchmade were ever to make this knife in a slightly larger formate, say about a three inch blade, I'd buy it without any regard for the price. Yessir. The hole drilled in the blade fits tight to a catch on the release. I've had the knife for about 15 years and whoever did the conversion did a nice job.

This is a nice Italian LeverLock that my dad brought back from Italy for me. It gets carried on special occasions.

This Benchmade is an assisted opening and is nearly as fast as an auto. My wife got it for me for my birthday a few years back. It has 'been-there done-that' many times over. Benchmade has rebuilt it twice now.

I see that Buck now sells the 110 already configured in automatic. I keep thinking about getting one. So many things I want, so little money!!

This one here has to be the coolest out of them all!
Just a classic , utilitarian design.

Here is a William Henry Gent's Knife, Model B30, button lock automatic

Blade is Wave Damascus laminated over ZDP-189 core, heat treated to a Rockwell Hardness of 65 to 67.

Frame is heat blued Wave Mokame Gane with Carbon Fiber Scales. Mokume Gane is the same material used on the hilts a Samurai Swords.

my model 10 2" with Grashorn grips. The holster is Lawrence Special Agent pigskin out, smooth calfskin inside.

This Richard Wright auto uses Turkish Twist Damascus produced by Jerry Rados

The blade is 5 1/4" long and the knife has an overall open length of 12 1/4"

This knife is a liner lock with natural Ivory handles on each side of a Fleur dis Li. The Auto opening blade can be released using either forward bolster making this knife truly ambidextrous.

The rear bolster window shows off a vibrant piece of Damascus steel

The liners are blue and gold anodized Titanium with beautiful file work on the opening side as well as the spine

Funny. I have had this one since I was 14(so I have it for 47 years now), no ideia where it was made. Carried it in highschool and during military service. Never once needed it though. Nowadays it's a no no to go outside with one.

Scales have a little damage from lots of neglect for many years but it still works good.
