M&P 15-22 Safety alert from S&W

I'm glad you guys are getting the tool and your rifles are fine. I requested mine right after I originally posted here and still haven't received it!

Guess I will try to re-order it.

When did you order it? Mine has been 2 weeks and S&W told me that i5 will be another week or two. Not holding my breath. Do yourself a favor and measure it yourself.

I ordered it on March 8th, right after I posted the alert here...

I still haven't received the email confirmation and was starting to worry.

Thanks for the update.

My local RFD have been back in touch saying Sportsman gun centre said to send it back to them through him and they would deal with it. But if the guage is in the post I'd rather wait as I think mine is within spec. Sportsman will be my backup if the guage doesn't appear.

FWIW, I never recieved an email confirmarion but received the gauge weeks after ordering it. Gauge thickness is what everyone has been reporting, 0.036".

My guess is S&W is focused on mailing the gauges rather than replying to thousands of emails. I never received a confirmation but I did receive the "go-no go" gauge in the mail. I think that's smart.

The important thing is people are getting the gauges. Sure it would be nice to have an email letting us know they are coming but only just that, nice.

It seems the average wait time is about 2-3 weeks from when the order is placed.

Happily, it seems most people are checking out good once they get them.

Requested mine on 3/19. It arrived either on 3/29 or 3/30. No prior notification received.
I haven't had a chance to check my 15-22 yet.

Ordered mine 3-16. Still nothing. Hmm
Ordered another one under a different serial number on 3-30-19. That arrived today. My rifle checked out good to go.
Has anyone had a bolt that FAILED the gauge test?

Hi guys
Would any of you kind gentlemen who have received the gauge, checked your rifles and no longer need it, consider posting one to UK? :o:o:o
We are unlikely to get any, any time soon. We are not high priority on S&W list.

I messaged them yesterday about UK orders and was told they are running behind and to allow another 2-3 weeks.
It's not really acceptable. That'll be nearly 2 months without the use of the rifle. I shoot a few competitions and have already missed shoots

You can measure your bolt face with a set of calipers using the depth gauge. If you get .042/.043" you will check just fine with the gauge when they come. The gauge itself is .036".

Sure, PM your address and share it with the other guys over there.

I own two rifles, had problems with both, several times two rounds will be fired. It happen to my newer one and blew out the extractor, so I don't have anything to measure on that rifle. I'm sending both my bolts back and expect to receive new ones. The older rifles (5 years+) when last round fired, bolt JAMS OPEN AND CAN'T CLOSE USING BOLT RELEASE BUTTON. Sent back to S&W 3 times and still not fixed.

Thanks for posting this. I called them and in a few minutes the order of the gauge was complete.

Hello, My gauge has been here for a while and I finally got around to checking my bolt with the gauge. It was absolutely flush with the surface of the bolt surrounding the cutout for the cartridge (gauge). What is the opinion of this group. Is this OK or should I send in the bolt? I have had the rifle for about a year and still haven't had time to fire it. The serial number is DEJ9___.
